MELBOURNE, Fla. - A Florida woman is facing charges after allegedly pointing a gun at two boys who were fishing in a pond near her backyard. She forced them to the ground, where they remained for about five minutes until her husband exited the residence and disarmed her, according to an arrest affidavit. What happened? What we know: On Friday, March 28, deputies responded to a home on Royston Drive in Melbourne after Donna Elkins, 59, called 911 to report two boys allegedly fishing in her backyard, authorities said. Elkins told the 911 dispatcher that she had "petrified them"

Comments:

If you listen to the video, her voice is that of someone from the Northeast, NYC or Boston. The parents of those boys should sue her attitude out of her!!

Only a pellet gun? Pellet guns can kill a person just as easily as a regular rifle if the pellet hits you in the right spot. She could also have severely injured the boys if she had shot them at close range. Good thing her husband came out and disarmed her. If I were the parents, I would be very angry. If there is an HOA, what will their response be to this as they are most likely responsible for pond access. The HOA could be on the hook for a part of any lawsuit if any.

Many of these " lakes' are there for water control and they do contain fish even good sized Bass. Transplanted Karens....I have run into a few of them along with some Kens.

Pretty stupid, and definitely one of those Yankee nutcases that actual Floridians just hate. For 99.9% of pellet guns, that's hogwash, #3. And most of today's "pellet guns" are airsoft guns which fire lightweight round plastic balls about 3/16" of an inch in diameter. Might be bad to get one shot in an eye from close range, but otherwise, pretty harmless. Still, just stupid. I have walked down on our property on a lake in Florida in the 1960s and asked people who had crossed our land to put in a boat to fish in our private lake to please leave. And I did have a holstered .22 pistol, but I never threatened them, and never pulled it out of the holster. My mother and I just asked them if one of the other lake property owners (two) had given them permission, and they said "NO", so we politely asked them to please leave. They left. No harsh words, no threats.

Textbook case of a person who has demonstrated themselves to be unsuitable for ownership of forearms. She should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon, making terroristic threats, false imprisonment, and any enhancements applicable for crimes against a minor. She should never again pass a background check. She and her spouse should be sued within an inch of their net worth . AND she should be publicly educated on how lucky she is that she wasn't stopped by a bystander who could have lawfully used deadly force to intervene. Idiot.

One of the many places I grew up had a pond on the property. Fish poachers were a constant and very irritating problem. If you treat them decently they see it as weakness and return even sooner, after telling their friends. If you treat them violently, you open yourself up for criminal charges. Calling the police is pointless because they would be gone before the cops get there, if they get there at all. Low priority call and all. So I guess landowners just have to accept that the poachers have more rights and they dont really own the land. The poachers do.

The Northeastern accent doesn't surprise me. reminds me of something that no one ever metions in these "Florida Man/Woman" stories: next time you're down here take a look at all the license plates on the roads. Notice how many non-Floridian and non-Southern accents you hear around here. One should consider that, with probably 60% of Floridians being transplants from somewhere else, a lot of that "Florida Crazy" is actually being IMPORTED from other states. Maybe even yours (no offense).

Rogue judges who act like the president need to be held accountable, Rep. That is a blatant usurpation of the executive's authority. I think that it does warrant impeachment, and I've been very clear about that for the past several weeks,” Gill told Newsmax. In this age of rage, it is common for people to become the very thing that they despise in others, jettisoning their most cherished values to strike out at those they hate. Since the election, Democrats have shown that very self-destructive quality of rage in adopting anti-immigrant, anti-free speech, anti-labor, and even anti-environmental positions to get at Donald Trump or his supporters. It consumes every part of a person. It is addictive, and it is contagious. What these rage addicts will not admit, however, is that they like it; they need it. That was evident this week in New York,
