Billionaire philanthropist Melinda French Gates admits she has “become more political” in recent years while also slamming other billionaires who are supporting President Donald Trump.
French Gates, who was promoting her new memoir, The Next Day, made the statement when asked about the political donations of other billionaires and the influence they have within the country. She suggested on CNN that over the last few years, the public has seen “some of their true personalities” emerge.
Her ex-husband, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, recently met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago. She also referenced Elon Musk and how the Department of Government Efficiency has gutted the federal government.
With all that has happened since January, one issue that has received less and less attention is the flow of illegal crossers over the U.S.-Mexico border. The move aims to remove monetary incentives for illegal aliens to come to the United States, the White House explained in a fact sheet released Tuesday, noting that Trump has repeatedly promised to take illegal immigrants off Social Security, and that the president signed an executive order in February ordering taxpayer resources not be used to incentivize or support illegal immigration.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced on Wednesday that he intended to stop two of President Donald Trump’s nominees for U.S. attorney positions in New York.
The move hinges on the “blue slip” tradition in which home-state senators can effectively block a nominee if they do not support the individual.

Rep. Elise Stefanik is considering a run for New York governor in 2026, The Post has learned — with the news surfacing hours after President Trump posted a social media message praising the “GREAT!!!” upstate Republican.
Stefanik, 40, would be the first Republican to lead the Empire State since George Pataki left office at the end of 2006.

Alleged MS-13 member Kilmar Abrego-Garcia, who was deported by the Trump administration to El Salvador’s notorious mega-prison, was previously accused of physically abusing his wife who has been fiercely advocating for his release.

A judge in Collin County slashed the 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony’s initial $1 million bond and said he may await trial at home with an ankle monitor and 24-hour supervision from his parents or an “adult designee.”
Anthony has been locked in Collin County Jail for allegedly stabbing Austin Metcalf, also 17, in the heart during a fight over a seat at a track meet on April 2. He is charged with first-degree murder.

So far, President Donald Trump has been piloting his second term like Maverick from “Top Gun.” With one exception. The tariff rollout has been FUBAR, which is troubling since it’s Trump’s signature economic policy issue.
There have been glaring missteps along the way, repeated pauses, confused and conflicting messaging, turf wars. It’s draining public support and causing real economic problems as businesses can’t make plans while all this is in flux.
We aren’t privy to insider gossip to speculate why this is. But we can say that Trump needs to get his tariff act together, and fast.

When CNN cut back to the studio, it was absolutely clear that host Dana Bash was not happy about Trump’s comments and she addressed them while looking visibly bothered and frustrated.
