Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) has been speaking on the Senate floor for more than 13 hours, and has stated he will speak for as long as he is “physically able” to do so to protest what President Donald Trump was doing.
In a pre-recorded video on X, Booker explained he would be speaking on the Senate floor and talking about what Trump was doing to the United States.Booker also referenced how on April 2, reciprocal tariffs will be imposed on all countries that have tariffs on U.S. exports and noted that the tariff would lead to “more reckless steps taken” that would increase prices for Americans.

You know who the last Democrat Senator to filibuster for over 14 hours was?
Robert C. Byrd (D-KKK)
Against the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The Washington Post , reporting on this story says that the longest a senator held the floor was Strom Thurmond
R- SC in 1957 filibustering against the Civil Rights Act. The big lie in the story...in 1957 Thurmond was a democrat and did not change his party until 1964.

I'm not sure which Trump action the democrats are most angry about but I suspect is has to do with killing off USAID, the vehicle that helped most of them to become millionaires through creative grant fraud and NGOs. The next thing they'll be protesting is DOGE looking into just how they got so rich so quick. That will cause the squeal heard round the world.

I remember watching this fool in the presidential debates before Biden's first term, and how he acted when Kavanaugh appeared before the Judicial committee, and he's a dimwit who wants to be self-important.

Diaper Joe made this possible. Without Diaper Joe’s 4 year experience to guide Spartacus, he would never know which diaper is the longest lasting.

13 hours of a lot of nothing. so what's the point.. Dems can jibberjabber all they want, but without ideas, principled stands they are unable to reverse their image of "if Tump is for it, i'm against it" - which is no route to recapturing our imagination and attention. so rant on, Cory, Jasmine, Coons,Chuck et al.

I'll give him credit for doing a REAL filibuster, rather than the fake limp wristed one we hear threatened so often that isn't a filibuster at all.

Thirteen hours isn't so impressive. Didn't then Dixiecrat Strom Thurmond break the 24 hour mark in about 1948?

Meanwhile, his "Best Friend/Staff member" Smuggled a loaded pistol past the security checkpoint...accompanied by an "Elected Congress critter"...and was later arrested by Capitol Police within the building, for possession of an un-licensed weapon inside of a restricted space/zone/area. Booker MIGHT be able to pull some strings and get him out of the lockup, but is toooo busy at the moment..

Is this one of the ones where they are yapping to an empty chamber? It looks to me like most of the time, anyone is yapping to an empty chamber when they are talking.

Flap that Jaw!
I wonder if the Lamestreams will go through everything he said, find the most irrelevant phrase, and mock him for it, like they did to Ted Cruz a couple of years ago when Cruz was filibustering something.
#11, your comment reminds me of the line in Blazing Saddles where the Waco Kid falls asleep as Sheriff Bart is telling his family story.
Sheriff Bart looks at the camera and says:
"I always like to keep my audience Riveted!"

Has he mentioned "T-Bone", his imaginary drug dealer friend? He hasn't spoken much about him since he was Neqark's mayor... maybe they've had a falling out? Inquiring minds...

Good grief, No. 16. If you or I did that, we would be so far under the jail that they would have to feed us biscuits with a slingshot. Not only was he on Capitol grounds with a firearm, but carrying without a license.

I think #25 is referring to #19, not to #16. Booker sneaked his armed friend (who was later arrested) around security. Wow. Why did his friend want to bring a gun into the U.S. Capitol?
