I never figured I'd see there be building tensions between the United States and Europe, but here we are.
To be fair, though, there should have been tensions a long time ago. After all, while many European nations like to consider themselves free societies, they're nothing of the sort. For example, gun rights are all but nonexistent for most people there. That's been the case for a long time.
But now, we're seeing that our European "allies" aren't on the same page elsewhere.
Famously, 60 Minutes did a segment where they followed German law enforcement as they kicked in doors over memes.

Amen, Tom. The only reason Hitler didn't try to take Switzerland during WWII is because he knew every Swiss citizen had a gun and he would lose at least one soldier per Swiss citizen. Never, ever let go of our guns.

The euros are the frogs in the pot with the heat increasing. They will be dead before they know they're in trouble.

I hate to believe this, but history bears it out. Humans in general have a deep desire to be ruled. Europeans in particular. They long to submit to authority and cannot fathom any other course. Thats why they are so afraid of private gun ownership. Gun owners only submit as long as it suits them to.

I often wonder what great relics of American manufacture, be it rifle, shotgun, or pistol, that everyday American citizens donated to "Tommy," for their island nation's self-defense shortly after their "Dunkirk" debacle. And, in the typical manner of all things British, after the "Yanks" saved them from a future of German grammar, they rounded up ALL of our donated national treasures and melted them down in order to fabricate lampposts, benches, and sewer grates, AND once again, outlawed private ownership of firearms. The British are aren't just stupid, they're insatiably gormless.

Gun safety, mass shootings, anti hunting, scary "assault weapons" and all the anti gun rhetoric is based on the ruling class fear of the ordinary citizen owning a gun that could be used against them if they became too powerful.

Well said but in many cases, preaching to the choir. Imagine where America would be right now if the Slickster or Obama and Holder had succeeded in their plans to disarm citizens. The very thought prompts me to go right out to the gun store to buy more ammo or add another piece to the collection. Most Europeans are stupid in this regard and have more than once regretted their lack of a means to fight tyranny. Apparently the Nazis did not teach them a strong-enough lesson and before the muslims inevitably take over, must fear their police, who spend more time harassing their own citizens than they do in protecting them. Even Israel succumbed to that stupidity but mere days after 10/07/2023 the average family could once again keep a rifle in the house. As soon as they push Netanyahu out, how soon will it be before they are victims waiting for another terrorist uprising? Kristallnacht was not that long ago when the Schutzstaffel went door to door in their insane bloodlust and Jewish families had nothing to stop them other than butter knives.

England and Europe have NEVER been anywhere near as free as we are in the USA. And even here, we are far less free than we were when I was a boy. MUCH less.
Remember....in 1967 I could and did, order rifles through the mail to be delivered to my home. The only paperwork required was the mailed order for the gun to the seller, and a money order for the payment.
And now, a background check, and paperwork at ONLY a federally licensed dealer in your own state, and the ATF has been illegally assembling all these forms and putting them into a computer data base. This is expressly forbidden by law, but they are doing it anyway.

All beautifully said, posters. The 2nd is in our Constitution because we had just won a long bloody war with our English overlords. What better reason is there?

Japanese admiral Yamamato is believed to have said America couldn't be successfully invaded because there would be rifle behind every blade of grass.
How many other countries have a culture like ours?
