Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, says hundreds of illegal aliens “should have been afforded the right” to deny that they are associated with the Tren de Aragua or MS-13 gangs before they were deported from the United States by President Donald Trump’s administration. As Breitbart News reported, Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act to begin deporting hundreds of illegal alien gang members with Tren de Aragua and the MS-13 gangs, both of which are now designated as terrorist organizations.

GOP lawmakers are proposing major reforms to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), including work requirements for a vast swathe of eligible participants, the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) has learned.
Republican Oklahoma Rep. Josh Brecheen and Utah Sen. Mike Lee will reintroduce the SNAP Reform and Upward Mobility Act (SRUMA) Thursday. The legislation would impose work requirements on food stamp recipients between the ages of 18 and 64, including individuals with children of six years of age or older.
Able-bodied adults with no dependents between the ages of 18 and 54 are currently eligible for three months of SNAP benefits over three years before work requirements start to kick in,

Taxpayers spent at least $4.3 billion over a three-year period covering the same Medicaid patients twice, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
Medicaid paid health insurance companies for hundreds of thousands of patients who signed up for the program in two or more separate states. This happened when a patient moved to a different state but Medicaid continued paying the insurance company in the state where the resident previously lived.
Medicaid is a joint state and federal health insurance program for the poor. Medicaid pays private insurance companies for each person covered. However, a person isn’t supposed to be covered in a state after moving out.
House Republicans are pushing the Trump administration to provide answers about the extent to which the Biden administration broadly paroled immigrants into the United States, asking the Department of Homeland Security to spill details that its former leader refused to divulge.

The Trump administration will no longer allow illegal migrants to receive Federal Housing Administration (FHA) mortgages, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner announced Wednesday.
“Today, HUD terminated Biden’s taxpayer-backed FHA mortgages for illegal aliens,” Turner wrote on X. “American taxpayers will no longer subsidize open borders by offering home loans to those who enter our nation illegally.”
A HUD official informed FHA-approved mortgage lenders on Tuesday that the agency will also no longer consider any “non-permanent resident” eligible for the government-backed, low-income home loans.

A divided federal appeals court panel ruled Wednesday that the Trump administration could not immediately use the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to quickly deport suspected members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

New York City's waste reduction efforts will commence a new phase next week, as the city's sanitation agency will begin enforcing a law-mandated composting program with fines.
Starting April 1, residents will have to separate food waste from trash or risk receiving a $25 fine from the Department of Sanitation. While mandatory composting became effecting in October 2024, the law passed by City Council established a warning period until April 2025.

The National Diversity Council (NDC)l filed for bankruptcy earlier this month after its board members filed a lawsuit accusing founder R. Dennis Kennedy and other top employees of siphoning off millions in funds for their own benefit.

A DHS official was placed on leave and may have their security clearance revoked for ‘accidentally’ adding a reporter to an email chain about an upcoming ICE raids in greater Denver area.
According to NBC News, a DHS worker included a Washington-based reporter in an email chain detailing an upcoming ICE raids back in January.
The email did not include classified material, however, the information was still considered sensitive because it detailed time, location and target of raids.
The DHS worker called the reporter and told them that they were ‘accidentally’ added to the email. The reporter promised to disclose any information. The raids were conducted without incident, NBC News reported.
