Donald Trump's 2024 election victory over Kamala Harris is one of the better things that has happened in our nation for some time, and all of the various benefits of that win are still making themselves known. One of the areas in which Americans will benefit from this is in energy, and in Alaska, that benefit will be felt not only in reduced energy prices, but in jobs. Alaska's economy depends in large part on mining and energy development, and on the North Slope, where many of Alaska's Native communities are found, as much as 95 percent of the local economies are dependent on oil and gas development. Those communities

Comments:

Not surprising, at all. Of course, native Alaskans support the production of oil. It benefits them all. And us.

Well, Democrats have worked overtime against all native populations in the United States. Broke treaty after treaty, and then used the environmental laws to stop traditional hunting and fishing practices over the years. Maybe it would be wise to put a reservation next to the Arctic Reserve to allow the companies to drill from that sovereign land.

We built that massive oil pipeline in the 1970's for a very good reason, and it never operated anywhere near maximum capacity.. What America ultimately needed was REAL leadership to fully implement it for its intended purpose.

Minnesota is known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Impressive, but Alaska has a million lakes. The entire state of Alaska (572,000 square miles) has less miles of paved roads than New York City. The only way to get to the most remote places is either by small airplane or by semi-truck over frozen rivers and lakes before the spring thaw. These hardy native Alaskans who live off the land have my total admiration. They're the toughest people on earth. There is practically no area of the state where the mercury can't fall to far below zero Fahrenheit. Dozens of towns have seen temperatures lower than -70 F. They need reliable carbon based fuel like gasoline for their snowmobiles, their chainsaws .... They need carbon energy to survive. Oh, and all native Alaskans benefit financially from the state's oil and gas business. They're strongly for production. Green electric transportation is absolutely useless in AK. The oil and natural gas from Alaska is necessary for our economic wellbeing, whether we live there, or in the Lower 48.

New York City's waste reduction efforts will commence a new phase next week, as the city's sanitation agency will begin enforcing a law-mandated composting program with fines. Starting April 1, residents will have to separate food waste from trash or risk receiving a $25 fine from the Department of Sanitation. While mandatory composting became effecting in October 2024, the law passed by City Council established a warning period until April 2025. What are the food separation rules? Sanitation officials say they have deliberately kept the rules simple for residents. All food, yard and food-soiled paper waste must be set out in a bin on recycling day. What should be separated? The Paris Climate Agreement was flawed; doomed to fail from its inception. It is long past time for all parties to it and the media to acknowledge this fact. The mainstream media have bemoaned the Paris Agreement’s fate since Donald Trump’s reelection. Trump took the United States out of the Paris Agreement during his first term, and vowed to do so again after President Biden put America back into the agreement. While Trump withdrawing the United States from the Paris Agreement was a visible and public rebuke of the pact, undermining its “effectiveness,” in point of fact, the agreement was dead even before the ink of the last signature

After four long years during which our democracy was under constant peril, one might say the November election cured that crisis, at least for now, returning the American voter and American values to center stage. Zealots of the Left, however, continue their tired chorus of accusation and cancellation. It is staggering how blind to election results and deaf to the voices of voters they seem to be. Wokeness may be in retreat but this core cadre, still including many in legacy media, continue their ranting about existential threats and trying to shame us into shedding crocodile tears over illegals. They have doubled down on their playbook even though

Quite the statement, eh? Let me explain. I’m well into my 60s and for my entire adult life I’ve heard that public school teachers are underpaid. It has been repeated as a mantra for decades. Ignoring for a moment whether it is true or not -- and the answer to that is generally, it depends -- let’s accept the mantra and analyze why public-school teachers are still underpaid after all these years. It’s not spending. As most voters know, it seems that every stinking year there is some ballot initiative or measure or legislative move to increase spending for our woefully underfunded public-school systems. It never seems to end.
