Ontario Premier Doug Ford is now apologizing to the American people for the fallout from the ongoing trade negotiations between Canada and the United States — and calling for an end to the “chaos” to save “millions of jobs.” Ford made assurances that a trade deal would be settled between the two North American nations prior to the Apr. 2 deadline during an interview on WABC’s “Cats and Cosby” — and added a very Canadian “sorry, eh,” directed toward US citizens. “I want to apologize to the American people. I spent 20 years of my life in the US, in New Jersey, in Chicago.

Shut the damn border from illegals and fentanyl coming into the US. Its simple. And remove your tariffs or we increase ours. Simple. And we don't want Canada as a state. I like our flag just the way it is.

Sure, Dougie... You love the American people so much that you threaten to cut electricity supplies to them should it suit you. Should the outages occurring result in deaths, will you attend the funerals and send well wishes? Well, I found out that MN and MI get only about 1% of their electricity from Canada and NY gets about 4.4%. Thus we can easily supplant your supplies, and since we have a president who likes to build, it will happen. No need to comment further, Dougie -- your box of Tim Horton's and sugary coffee are calling.

See President Trump's message a few posts down the page, upping the Canadian tariff to 50%. Ford's previous statement to Ameria was ugly. Dug himself into a hole. Now he shrinks back and tries to convince us he really, really likes us.

#12: A Canadian running a YT channel called "mistersunshinebaby" pointed out that interfering with the operation of the electricity grid in a foreign country can be considered an act of war [his reward for pointing this out was to have "Team Canada" call for his arrest for violating Canada's so-called "free speech" code]. Ford himself appeared to be white as a sheet when he announced the suspension of the surcharge in exchange for the meeting with Sec. Commerce Lutnick. I suspect this is because Lutnick probably hinted at the "act of war" words and asked Ford if he was prepared for the consequences.

I'm not sure Lutnick should bother meeting Ford at all. Based on this video from Canadian YT channel "Unacceptable Fringe!" it appears that Ford may have won a rigged election for premier of Ontario: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrXsldl9AFY Lutnick should instead send Ford away shortly after he arrives, with a message to return only after he wins a legitimate election.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon said massive layoffs Tuesday were the “first step” toward accomplishing President Trump’s goal of eliminating the agency — and insisted the cuts won’t affect educational programs. McMahon, during an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, was asked if the termination of nearly half of the department’s 4,000-person workforce was part of a broader plan aimed at a “total shutdown” of the federal agency. “Yes – actually, it is,” the 76-year-old responded. “That was the president’s mandate,” McMahon added. “His directive to me clearly is to shut down the Department of Education.”

The Trump administration sent the far-left into an apoplectic rage on Sunday when it was announced they had detained pro-Hamas activist Mahmoud Khalil. The Department of Homeland Security took him into custody with the intent to revoke his green card and deport him after he repeatedly expressed public support for terrorism. Khalil is originally from Syria and has been one of the leaders of the antisemitic harassment campaign taking place at Columbia University. During the summer of 2024, he helped instigate and organize a group of Hamas supporters who illegally occupied public spaces around the school, becoming one of their chief "negotiators."

bona fide opposition movement has grasped the reins in Washington. Since he was sworn in, rather than sitting atop or expanding the vast federal bureaucracy like his Republican predecessors, President Donald Trump has wielded his executive authority to cut, curb, and convert the woke and weaponized administrative state into a constrained and constitutional government. And he’s just getting started. Enter Congress. President Trump pressing the reset button on the administrative state has already done more to move America in the right direction than anything else we’ve seen in recent memory, but executive orders giveth and executive orders taketh away.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, saying Khalil “led activities aligned to Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.” According to his attorney, Khalil is a permanent resident with a green card. Federal law prohibits providing “material support or resources” to any designated terrorist organizations. Mayor Eric Adams’ corruption case should be tossed for good — without the Trump administration being able to hold it over his head — to remove any political “taint,” the lawyer who reviewed the federal case recommended Friday. The Republican lawyer, Paul Clement, wrote in a 33-page filing that Hizzoner’s case should be dismissed with prejudice — formally killing the prosecution — to swat down the idea that Adams is beholden to President Trump under the threat of his case being resurrected.

The best thing to come out of President Trump’s joint address to Congress this week is, God willing, a total abandonment of the facade that “bipartisanship” is a worthy goal in itself. For 100 minutes, Trump relentlessly, unapologetically championed and promoted his agenda, both what’s been done in just 42 days and what’s still to come. That’s fairly normal of a president, but there were three very special moments that I’ll forever hold dear in my heart when Trump aggressively confronted his political opponents on some very sensitive subjects,

The Supreme Court’s main job is to settle questions of law that arise in “cases or controversies.” But it also supervises the federal judiciary. Sometimes, that means getting outside of the Court’s comfort zone of an orderly appeals process when individual judges single-handedly provoke a separation-of-powers crisis. On Wednesday, in Department of State v. AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition, the Court fell down on that job. It issued a vague order doing little to rein in D.C. federal district Judge Amir Ali from inserting himself above the president in running the U.S. Agency for International Development.

A new four-lane highway cutting through tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rainforest is being built for the COP30 climate summit in the Brazilian city of Belém. It aims to ease traffic to the city, which will host more than 50,000 people - including world leaders - at the conference in November. The state government touts the highway's "sustainable" credentials, but some locals and conservationists are outraged at the environmental impact. The Amazon plays a vital role in absorbing carbon for the world and providing biodiversity, and many say this deforestation contradicts the very purpose of a climate summit.
