Trump administration plans to cut 80,000

The Department of Veterans Affairs is planning an “aggressive” reorganization that includes cutting 80,000 jobs from the sprawling agency that provides healthcare for retired military members, according to an internal memo obtained by The Associated Press. The VA’s chief of staff, Christopher Syrek, told top level officials at the agency that it had an objective to cut enough employees to return to 2019 staffing levels of just under 400,000. That would require terminating tens of thousands of employees after the VA expanded during the Biden administration, as well as to cover veterans impacted by burn pits under the 2022 PACT Act. The memo instructs top-level staff to prepare for an agency-wide reorganization

IF a Veterans Claim sits in a VA hole for over 3 months, they should be automatically APPROVED, and cannot be REVERSED!

I have often wondered why 80 years after the end of World War 2 why the VA doesn’t utilize existing private hospitals. Seems a duplication of services where some veterans could get care closer to home.

How are there over 400k people working for any government agency in America? I've read that there are some 2-3 million government workers and contractors. That number has to be higher based on the small cuts (80k/+400k) discussed here.

My best friend in high school was having a meltdown on facebook because I posted a meme about the doge refund checks. She’s a VA nurse and said she can’t sleep at night because she’s scared she will lose her job. I told her, as a nurse, she would have no trouble finding a new one AND if she’s going her job well she’s not going to get fired. I have little sympathy for federal workers right now.

I remember in 2017 when President Trump fired inept VA workers and the VA did just fine...so bring it on...and let veterans go to private hospitals if they need to...on a personal note:...my darling husband waited for 2 hours at a VA facility to be seen...he was having difficulty breathing...so I fired the help...and took my hubby to a private hospital...which President Trump had approved...but ole Joe and his baloney brigade undid all President Trump's help for the veterans....

What do they have, one employee per retired vet? The one phone call I ever made to the VA, I spoke to a helpful person who was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I know that's not usually the case with the typical government worker.

A border wall upgrade construction project canceled by President Joe Biden is back underway in the Texas Rio Grande Valley. U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks announced that the Trump administration ordered the restart of a Biden-era-canceled border wall upgrade project along the Texas border with Mexico. Banks reported that the project will replace six-foot guard rails with 18-foot bollard panels. They are designed to “provide impedance and denial capabilities” to illegal aliens crossing the border from Mexico into Texas. ” These panels were originally planned for installation during the prior Trump Administration, but the contracts were cancelled (sic) by the Biden Administration,” Banks stated.

U.S. President Donald Trump's administration is planning to revoke temporary legal status for some 240,000 Ukrainians who fled the conflict with Russia, a senior Trump official and three sources familiar with the matter said, potentially putting them on a fast-track to deportation. The move, expected as soon as April, would be a stunning reversal of the welcome Ukrainians received under President Joe Biden's administration. The planned rollback of protections for Ukrainians was underway before Trump publicly feuded with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy last week. It is part of a broader Trump administration effort to strip legal status from more than 1.8 million migrants allowed to enter the U.S. under temporary

It comes after Trump's ban during his first term that kept travelers from seven total Muslim nations from entering the United States, which the Supreme Court upheld. The president said on the campaign trail that he would expand his travel ban to include people from Gaza in the wake of the Hamas terror attack on Israel. Trump is expected to announce several new executive orders later this afternoon as he marches full steam ahead during his first 100 days.

The Biden presidency might have been the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the American people. A shocking investigation by the Heritage Foundation's Oversight Project has revealed that virtually every document bearing Joe Biden's signature during his presidency was signed by an autopen — except for one.
