Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered a strong rebuke of President Donald Trump's decision to level punishing tariffs on their country.
He cited the Wall Street Journal to criticize Trump, and call his decision 'dumb.'
'Donald, they point out that even though you are a very smart guy, this is a very dumb thing to do,' he said angrily at a press conference on Tuesday.
Imports from Canada will now be taxed at 25 percent as Trump's tariffs went into effect on Tuesday.
'Today the United States launched a trade war against Canada, their closest partner and ally, and their closest friend,' Trudeau said. 'At the same time they're talking about

So it's OK that Canada has been charging tariffs on American goods forever, but if we reciprocate, it's war. I can't think of anything I purchase, that comes from Canada. My Canadian bacon comes from Wisconsin and I wouldn't touch cheap Canadian blended whiskey when we have the best out of Kentucky. Let the little punk do his thing.

Justin Trudeau.......
"The Aga Khan affair was a political scandal in Canada involving Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. In 2017, Trudeau was found guilty of violating sections 5,11,12, and 21 of the Federal Conflict of Interest Act by accepting private-island vacations, gifts, and flights from the Aga Khan, a philanthropist and spiritual leader of the Shia Ismaili religion. This was deemed significant as the Aga Khan Foundation, a registered lobby, had received over $50 million of federal funding in 2016."

Trump need to remind everyone in Canada that the tariffs that were just placed on Canadian goods are the same tariffs that Canada places on American goods. If Canada can charge a 10% tariff, why can't the US? If they don't like it, they are free to remove their tariffs and we will remove ours. Trudeau conveniently leaves the current Canadian tariffs on American good out of his hissy fits. Same goes for Mexico and the EU countries.

Trump and his administration need to constantly pound the fact that Canada already had a lot of tariffs on US goods going to Canada, some as high as 100 percent. In light of that, Trudeau's ranting is all show.

Nice try, Trudie. But have you checked the value of the CDollar against the US Dollar lately? By the way, how soon before you rid Canada of your socialist foolery? Pierre Poilievre is waiting.

I can't think of anything we import from Canada other than Canadians fleeing to Florida in the winter. Some Lumber? I have never liked tariffs in general, but it should be quid pro quo. Traiffs were one of the main reasons for our Civil War. Maybe a couple of industries, theirs or ours, need some protection, but other than that I don't know. China would be a better target, but Americans have gotten hooked on their cheap stuff made by slave labor.

Didn't Trudeau resign? When is he leaving? This is not going to work out well for Canada in the short term --- but in the long term Canadians are getting a look at the ruin their Marxist leaders have wrought.

For folks who don't follow Canada's internal politics closely (and who came blame you?), here's a little primer: Trudeau has *resigned* from being PM and "prorogued" Parliament (essentially putting it out of business till a new PM is installed).. BUT *he* remains as "caretaker" PM until this process plays out. So he's essentially a dictator without a sitting Parliament to reign him in. The next PM will not be elected and have a popular mandate, but will be selected by a few hundred thousand members of the Liberal Party of Canada, and under Canada's whacky constitution, that person will be PM despite having not won a seat in the Canadian parliament. (It is customary under the parliamentary system for the PM to be the leader of the party that wins the most seats in an election and also for that person to be elected to his or her own seat in parliament as well. Such a person has an electoral mandate. The incoming PM won't.)
The incoming PM is likely to be one Mark Carney, a WEF member in good standing. Carney will, no doubt, make a visit to Trump on the tariffs his first order of business. Trump, knowing that Carney was "selected" and has no popular mandate, is likely to tell Carney to go pound sand. Carney will return to Canada with nothing, which should trigger an election in 2-3 months that the current governing coalition would prefer to put off for up to 18 months.
Canadians of all stripes have been clamoring for an election sooner rather than later. They should thank PDJT that they will likely get one sooner, because their "betters" in Ottawa have other ideas. Now it is up to an allegedly free people in a representative democracy to make the best choice. But the Liberal Party is dispensing lots of TDS Kool-Aid, and it seems to be having an impact if recent polls. Pray for our Canadian friends that they make the right choice and choose Pierre Poilievre and the CPC.

We better watch out ladies and gentlemen. Governor Justin Castro Trudence is very furious with The Don. As others here have said good old Canada has tariffs on US products that come into their country. so if we do the same it's a trade war? A Conservative commentator I watch online calls Little Justin a Man Chicken. Complete with clucking sounds. I say let Castro's son cluck and strut around his office like a fool.

I dont think canada has anything that we cant produce for ourselves. May be that the best thing that could happen is for canada to cut us off. Produce it ourselves, keep the money here.
