Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency can continue to access sensitive records from at least three federal agencies after a federal judge in Washington denied a request to block Musk's budget-slashing team from the Department of Labor, Department of Health and Human Services and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
U.S. District Judge John Bates, in a late-night ruling, denied a request made by a group of unions and nonprofits to issue a temporary order blocking DOGE from the sensitive records maintained by the three agencies.
Elon Musk has repeatedly targeted Bates over the last week on X – including calling for the judge's impeachment – after Bates issued a decision

Federal Employee unions are standing strong to keep the current waste, fraud, abuse, graft, and mismanagement securely in place.

I had a discussion with two family members about "the plight of government workers." They cried about people who've recently relocated to the DC area and are now faced with losing their jobs. I reminded them that this happens all the time in the real world. Businesses shutter and downsize all the time. You didn't hear all this whining from people on the left when businesses were forced to close and people lost jobs and income during covid. They also fear that the military (they meant Pentagon) won't face such cuts. It's so hard to talk to people when they are ignorant. They think they know so much, but they are clueless. They react to everything in their feelings, and it's hard to talk common sense to them. They also live in a bubble and don't realize most of Americans don't think like them.

Hey number 2, just ask your family members if they were upset with what happened to the Keystone Pipeline workers who got fired because government didn't like the project and killed their project causing everyone to be fired. Government workers should be in a better position to learn to code unlike welders,

In 2008, the internet bubble burst and thousands of employees lost their jobs and watched their 401Ks evaporate overnight. Welcome to reality. The government is not a jobs program, nor is it a refuge for those who cannot succeed in the private sector.

That's how a lot of us were forced out of the military during the Clinton years. They called "right sizing" when the Cold War ended. Thankfully, I hit 21 yrs and retired, but a lot if people weren't as fortunate.

Records and data bases are only 'sensitive' if they contain information that needs to be hidden from the light of day and the law. Elon and the boys have discovered quite a few of those already. I can't wait until they get into the Pentagon and expose the amounts of the black budgets and count the number of $400 hammers out there.

Its common sense that the President as the leader of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government must know what the Executive Branch Agencies have been and are doing, especially with taxpayers money, to be able to properly lead those Agencies. Obviously a President cannot do that all by his lonesome, and must therefore establish a group that are effectively auditors, to help him get the information that the President needs to effectively manage those Executive Agencies. You would think that the Congress would be happy to see the President taking action to keep the Executive Branch Agencies honest, and on the straight and narrow as far as properly spending taxpayers money.

I hear ya poster #2...I'm faced with much the same whining and crying...but I remain calm and present my case and let them stew for hours....it's fun to battle when you know your material and you believe in what you say...I especially like watching Newsmax...they are so logical and present guests who know the business at hand....especially Victor David Hanson....I also wait each day for Greg Kelly who takes apart the news line by line.....

Dittos, #9. IMO, Greta is no slouch in the delivery department, either. I'm almost done watching sleeveless young ingenues with their blonde locks and their valley-girl accents reading teleprompters

Why does a judge, federal or not, have the power to block the Presidency?
