A federal judge’s decision to bar Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency from reviewing the Treasury Department’s payment system is most likely a temporary setback — but it illustrates the urgent need to secure a permanent win for transparency. Progressives are panicking because their 100-year, largely successful assault on American constitutional government is in danger of being reversed. Thanks to Musk’s wise plan to follow the money, he has a historic opportunity to mount a coup — not on behalf of himself or President Trump, but for We the People. But to make the revolution stick, he’ll have to make transparency a permanent feature of our federal government.

Democratic Party strategist James Carville admitted that the pace at which President Trump is fulfilling his executive duties is throwing his party off balance.
In the latest episode of the “Politics War Room” podcast, Carville lamented how Democratic lawmakers are floundering in trying to stop the president’s second term agenda.
“We’re getting overwhelmed,” he told podcast co-host Al Hunt.
“Things that we thought that would kill a political career, would be poisonous for whatever reason, this guy keeps chugging along.”
Former Special Counsel Jack Smith received $140,000 in pro bono legal services from high-profile DC firm Covington and Burling last month, shortly before he resigned from the Justice Department.
The legal services were labeled as a ‘gift’ on Jack Smith’s financial disclosure obtained by Politico.
The reason for the legal services was not immediately clear. However, it was previously reported that Jack Smith’s prosecutors sought legal counsel from high-powered DC law firms as Trump’s new DOJ was set to take over.
It was previously reported that Jack Smith’s investigators were fielding calls with lawyers in DC.
A bitter feud — which began in 2015 when Donald Trump said of former POW John McCain “I like people who weren’t captured” — is over, Page Six is told.
Trump wasn’t invited to the senator’s funeral in 2018, and the then-president fumed afterward that he didn’t get a “thank you” for Sen. McCain’s state funeral.

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the Elon Musk-led group tasked with eliminating wasteful spending, on Friday said it found $1.9 billion that was misplaced by the Biden administration.
The funds were from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and have been recovered.
"$1.9 billion of HUD money was just recovered after being misplaced during the Biden administration due to a broken process. These funds were earmarked for the administration of financial services, but were no longer needed," a DOGE post on X stated.

A White House document on the order provided to Breitbart News notes that Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum will chair the council, while Energy Secretary Chris Wright will be the vice chairman. The website for Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was hacked, with tricksters exploiting a security weakness to post their own messages to the site. One message read, “THESE ‘EXPERTS’ LEFT THEIR DATABASE OPEN.”
DOGE’s website tracking Musk’s cuts to the federal government was not secure and pulls from a database that could be edited by anyone, two separate people who found the vulnerability told 404 Media. Denver Public Schools has filed a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem over a policy allowing ICE immigration agents to enter schools.
The federal lawsuit claims that the policy has caused attendance to plummet due to the amount of illegal aliens in the district.
“DPS is hindered in fulfilling its mission of providing education and life services to the students who are refraining from attending DPS schools for fear of immigration enforcement actions occurring on DPS school grounds,” the lawsuit states, according to a report from ABC News.

Yes, I know that pennies cost more to make than they’re worth. (Snip) The nearest rounding option would be five cents (though there’s a smaller lobby gunning to kill the nickel, too). That means every transaction in Colorado — the lowest state sales tax at 2.9% — will get rounded up. New York City, whose combined tax cut on most sales is effectively 8.875%, will also get rounded up.
