Eagles fans in Philadelphia were in true form following their team’s 40-22 win over the Chiefs to win Super Bowl 2025.
Hundreds of fans flocked to the city’s Broad Street to celebrate the franchise’s second Super Bowl title.
After the city decided to not grease the poles in the area, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, some decided to climb them, including one who sat atop a traffic light on the corner of Broad Street and Pine Street. (Videos)
Fans shot fireworks into the air and popped champagne. Others joined together to jump on top of and destroy a police van.
Some found a garbage truck to get on top of.

I have never understood this behavior. Maybe I am just an old Karen at heart but I think any city should be put on notice before the game ends that if you act out like fools, you will be arrested. Period. No exceptions. Go ahead and celebrate but when any violence or property damage occurs, you have crossed the line and you will be prosecuted.
Why can’t some people behave like adults? They ruin it for everyone else. It’s not only this after the win craziness, it’s popping up far too many times. Have some self-respect! Sit yourself down and shut up! There are far too many emotionally charged adults acting like toddlers. Clearly, shame is unheard of by these blockheads.

#1 took the words right out of my mouth. Go home and trash you own property. And while you're acting the fool, torch your own car.

For those who may not understand #3’s post, the mayor of Philly didn’t know how to spell Eagles…

Given that the city has been run into the ground by liberals, it was a short trip to chaos.

I actually watched the game last night and was sorely disappointed in the commercials and the half time show. The commercials were so bad that it was hard to tell what they were advertising. The half time was awful; I couldn't understand one word that was said. I did not like the way the Star Spangled Banner was sung. Other than that, it was a good game. Thank goodness the celebrity culture could not control the outcome. NOTE: The Eagles gave credit to God.

It's a shame that Philadelphia can't be a city the Eagles team could be proud of. Don't they have a police department? If there are photos of people committing crimes then those individuals should be prosecuted.

No surprise here. Franklin would be ashamed of Philly. Remember Philadelphians booed Santa Claus.

Am I the only one who knew before it started that this extravaganza was going to be a complete waste of time. I spent the evening in a good book and was not disappointed at all.

It was just the Philly natives creating their own version of the halftime show.

I made it thru the first half and the halftime show. Right from the start is was downhill but when that halftime exercise session concluded the bottom was found. This is the last S.B. I will watch...Advertisers paid big money for their commercials but only they knew what they're selling.

Agree, #1. But Philadelphia is far from an outlier in crazy city celebrations. A lot of the criticism, of course, is sour grapes from other fan bases, whose fans have done the same if not worse. Guess what? Eagles are Super Bowl Champs, world champions. Fly, Eagles, Fly!!!

As every year, 90% of the entertainment was Black. The halftime show was appalling. I was listening to the Philadelphia feed on the police scanner after the game and it was clear that there were not nearly enough cops on duty to deal with the mess. They were on the radio screaming for support and not getting it. Maybe the Mayor who can’t spell EAGLES should have been paying attention.

Worst commercials ever, and I've seen every SB. Anymore, the halftime shows seem directed at a certain "demographic."
Somebody forgot to tell the Eagles' secondary that the game wasn't over.

People will do things in a mob that they would never do alone.
That is why nobody ever utters the phrase "Unruly soccer individual".

This isn't just a Philly problem. Other cities have had the same experience after their teams have won a championship. It's just that Philly fans have a reputation for being somewhat wild. So, it gets extra media bashing.

Way back in 1975 I was attending college right on South Broad St. when the Flyers won their first Stanley Cup. We came out from our final exams to watch the mayhem as 2 million fans poured into the street. The worst thing we saw in all of the mayhem was some guy streaking (remember that craze?) with the word “Flyers” painted on his arse.
The way our culture has changed, the only question I have is - how many people were shot last night in the celebration?

Oops. Hit submit too soon. The article says that 2 people were shot but I’m betting there were more.

Now I remember why I never cared about sports. Someone gets a million bucks for chasing a ball around and I pay thousands for tickets, pay absurd prices for beer and snacks and then get beat up or shot? No thanks. I'll get excited about hanging out with the grandkids, gossiping with friends or getting a new gun instead.

"Hundreds of fans flocked . . . "? Try HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS. I was even out there there on Broad Street, all 65 years of me. You can see me in the pix, I'm the guy in green.
#12 is right. So much envy out there.

Considering the city, how could they tell? Didn't start watching until 1/2 in the 3rd quarter. Was trying to avoid all the Swiftie shots. Guess she became irrelevant since the Chiefs were getting pounded.

I'm a Chiefs fan, but congrats to the Eagles. They came to play and KC didn't. They knew they had to control Mahomes, and they did. I hope there won't be trouble when the Eagles hold a parade. Last year, when the Chiefs won, some stupid idiot shot and killed a woman due to his stupidity. The Chiefs had announced that they would not hold a parade if they won this year. They didn't want another innocent person hurt. Also, Mahomes and many of the other players also thank God. Mahomes prays in the end zone before each game and gives glory to God. He also took all of the blame for the loss.
