“Democrats say they have little appetite to help Republicans, given Trump’s latest moves, and intend to use their leverage in the spending fight,” according to The Hill.
Sen. Patty Murray, the top Democrat on the Senate Appropriations Committee, warned reporters earlier this week that “the level of trust is at the lowest I have ever seen it here in Congress,

They cannot grasp that WE WANT to close down 90% of the government.
Dumb as hell. Only Dems fear a government shutdown. They'll anger their own voters, mostly.

With government layoffs and agency closings there should be more than enough money. Play the dems shutdown game to layoff more nonessential folks

The congressional Democratics are made up of vicious people upset because they can’t stand someone looking over their shoulder or pointing out their criminal acts with the taxpayer monies. We are not stupid, but most of the reasons for spending our dollars are stupid.

Democrats really know how to make themselves popular. What is it, like, a 35% approval rating now. LOL They are going nuts, because Trump and DOGE are on the verge of destroying all their money scams. There's a reason most congressmen are multi-millionaires after being in office a few years. Applies to many in both parties. Things are going to get hot.

Worke for me. Trump can use the shut down to suspend everything. All actions are approved.

The problem with allowing the shutdown is that the fed employees get full back pay once the budget is approved. So they get full pay for doing absolutely nothing, basically extra vacation days. I have no idea why they hate government shutdowns so much.

This is rich. So now a " government shutdown" will be a good thing? Wonder what the press coverage will look like now that USAID money is turned off? More savings!

Now we can expect the democrats to begin wailing about how Granny will starve to death and the children won't get any healthcare. And the media, being the parrots that they are, will scream it from the rooftops.

Like President Trump, it's a darn good thing that Elon Musk is not taking a salary for what he is doing with DOGE. So he can just keep on working when everyone else is sitting home for a shutdown.
But knowing Musk, he will pay DOGE out of his own pocket while the government is shut down. Their work is way too important to play stupid politician games.
