One Of America’s Priciest Green Boondoggles

Subsidies And Incinerating Birds

One of the most expensive green energy projects ever undertaken in American history looks like it is now on borrowed time after eating up massive amounts of taxpayer dollars and killing thousands of birds. Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) — a major utility company — announced in January that it is terminating power purchase contracts with the owners of Southwestern California’s Ivanpah Solar Power facility, a massive and unique solar project that received hundreds of millions of subsidy dollars as it launched in 2014.

Comments:

More taxpayer money down the drain. Nuclear is the way to go.

It mostly incinerate money. Bad, bad, bad idea. They had one at Sandia National Labs near ABQ, and it didn't work well. So they build another one. Fried birds, too.

That odor from Ivanpah Solar Power facility is not from dead bird carcasses but from the federal money laundering spent on the facility.

Make them pay back every dime they received. If we make all the deep state criminals (including the IRS) pay back all the money they've stolen, we should be able to eliminate the income tax in under three Trump months.

Green projects always over promise and deliver less than even modest expectations. Plus there are the nasty side effects like bird barbeques. An all to "fix" a fake climate crisis that is unrelated to CO2 in the atmosphere and more likely to be caused by things outside of human control, like the sun and our planet's movement through space. Good luck with fixing that with green power.

Re #6, all the original folks have long flown the coop, and since these are ALWAYS money losers, there is no money left to 'get them to pay for decommissioning'. That never happens and the taxpayers always pick up the costs. These lunatic 'green energy' projects need to put in a 50% bond up front to cover the costs of tearing them down and cleaning up the mess when they inevitable go bust and fail. And the ALL go bust and fail.

Against the backdrop of the fires that wiped out whole sections of Southern California, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s careers are in danger due to anger from the state's Democratic base. Calls for both leaders to step down from office have grown since fires started tearing through the swanky hills of Los Angeles on Jan. 7. An online petition demanding Bass step down has garnered more than 166,000 signatures. Newsom was notified of recall papers on Tuesday due to an effort spearheaded by Californian activist Randy Economy.

Elise Stefanik’s seat until June when the state holds scheduled primary elections, according to multiple reports.

Hoover Institution Senior Fellow Victor Davis Hanson explained on Friday how Democratic senators’ attacks on President Donald Trump’s nominees during confirmation hearings are backfiring politically because of conservatives’ current ability to push their messages more effectively online. Many Democratic senators have taken adversarial approaches to Trump’s cabinet nominees, including screaming at them, interrupting them and hurling accusations against them. Hanson, on “Victor Davis Hanson Show,” said that Trump’s nominees have all excelled at their hearings as they have come under fire from Democrats.

NewsNation host Chris Cuomo accused Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Wednesday of hypocrisy during her questioning of Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at his confirmation hearing. Warren pressed Kennedy to “commit” to not accepting compensation for any lawsuits against drug companies during his potential tenure at HHS and for four years after, leading to a heated exchange. Cuomo, on “CUOMO,” suggested that Warren’s record, which includes becoming substantially wealthier while in office and misrepresenting her Native American heritage, should have disqualified her from such questioning of Kennedy.

The inmate, Maria Moe, who was housed at a female prison, alleges the order violates the Constitution and federal law because it “directly targets transgender Americans by attempting to deny them legal recognition under federal law and to strip them of long-established legal protections” and will deny transgender inmates “medically necessary healthcare,” according to the lawsuit. The world's biggest iceberg — a wall of ice the size of Rhode Island — is lumbering toward a remote island off Antarctica that's home to millions of penguins and seals. The trillion-ton slab of ice — called a megaberg — could slam into South Georgia Island and get stuck or be guided around it by currents. If it gets stuck it could make it hard for penguin parents to feed their babies and some young could even starve. Overall, however, researchers aren't too worried about major harm from the iceberg, named A23a.

What the hell did I watch? If anything, the anti-Elon Musk rally last night proved two things: Trump derangement syndrome has been replaced by Elon Musk derangement syndrome. Second, the Democratic Party has no idea how to win elections. The reports of a rudderless, leaderless, and divided organization were confirmed last night.
