Trump Signs Sweeping School Choice Executive
Order Aimed at Empowering Parents

President Donald Trump signed a sweeping executive order on Wednesday backing school choice and empowering parents in education. The order states that it is the policy of the Trump administration to “support parents in choosing and directing the upbringing and education of their children,” and it directs the Department of Education to prioritize school choice programs through discretionary grants. “Parents want and deserve the best education for their children. But too many children do not thrive in their assigned, government-run K-12 school. According to this year’s National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), 70 percent of 8th graders were below proficient in reading, and 72 percent were below proficient in math,”

what will really help parents is allowing them to deduct private school tuition for IRS. It will also help enrollent in struggling parocial schools that provide excellent education for all students.

#2, Governor Shapiro of Pennsylvania will not take this well. He sold out the parents for school choice to send their children to good schools. Those children are currently still attending very bad schools. He sold out to the Teachers Union and went back on his campaign promise to promote school choice. He's a liar. This will haunt him forever.

You can walk into a school when the bell rings to change classes and tell whether or not the principal is good. Without discipline no school is any good. Teachers cannot teach when students cannot behave.

Charter and private schools have a distinct advantage over public schools. Discipline. I don't know how public schools can do their job when there is no discipline. It's not just about fighting or sexual assaults. If you saw how "children" addressed teachers you would be disgusted.

A family member is on staff at an after-school program in a large city in California. She told me last week that she just found out that one of the 13-year-old children in her care cannot write...anything. He is a product of public schools, but even though he is a native speaker of English, is unable to write or print the English language. He can read, type, and text...but he has not learned how to write. What are his chances of getting a decent job in the private sector when he grows up? Even worse, with AI coming on so strong, the implications are even more shocking for the level of education in America in coming years.

As a public school teacher I know children do not all fit into the “box” that is public education. I would love to see innovative new methods created and provided through a variety of charter schools. Charter schools really need a closer look.

When you're the Democrats, and CNN is openly laughing at you -- and not just the inimitable Scott Jennings, who jokingly begged producers to roll the montage again -- that's probably not a great sign. A collection of opposition politicians gathered in DC this week to shriek into microphones about Elon Musk's efforts to reduce government waste. Cheered on by a their usual insta-crowd, a collection of activists and bureaucrats who can always be relied upon to drop whatever they're doing (or not doing) attend such 'rallies,' they inveighed against Musk, Trump, and other assorted enemies. Some of the attacks were vituperative, personal, and slanderous like shouting

Senate Democrats on Thursday delayed Kash Patel’s committee confirmation vote for a week. The far left is doing all it can to prevent Kash Patel from becoming FBI Chief. They know the truth is going to come out from the Comey and Wray years, and it terrifies them. Democrats were able to delay the vote due to panel rules. Voting on Patel’s nomination was on the agenda for Judiciary Committee members, but Democrats requested it be held over one week. It is the prerogative of a member to request such a move one time. A similar move was made on Attorney General Pam Bondi’s nomination last month.

Bishop Mariann Budde, who famously criticized Trump during an inaugural prayer service, has been found to have pocketed a staggering $53 million in taxpayer funds through her organization, Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM). This bombshell comes as no surprise to those who see through the sanctimonious veneer of left-wing religious leaders who preach compassion while filling their coffers with public money. Bishop Budde, during an inaugural prayer service at Washington National Cathedral, implored President Trump to show compassion towards vulnerable groups, including illegal aliens and members of the LGBTQ community.

In a time of growing distrust in institutions and blatant political double standards, the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence (DNI) has exposed the festering rot in America’s political and intelligence establishment. Gabbard is a decorated combat veteran and former congresswoman. Once hailed as a rising star in the Democrat party, she has since been relentlessly smeared—from being labeled a “Russian asset” to even being placed on a terrorist watchlist during the Biden-Harris administration. These attacks aren’t just absurd; they expose how deeply politicized the intelligence community has become. As DNI, Gabbard would oversee 18 intelligence agencies with a $70 billion budget. One more bit of Biden administration lawfare is finally over. Back in November 2021, the FBI raided the home of investigative journalist James O'Keefe, who was then with Project Veritas, and two other PV journalists, as part of a federal investigation into the alleged theft of a diary Joe Biden's daughter, Ashley, was storing at a rehab facility. Two people, Aimee Harris and Robert Kurlander, had obtained the diary and shopped it to Project Veritas. Even though Project Veritas spoke to Ashley Biden and she verified the diary was hers, they weren't convinced of its authenticity (thinking it might be an elaborate catfishing effort) and held off on publishing

Kathy Hochul, prodded behind the scenes by House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, is weighing a measure that would extend the timeline for special elections — just days before New York Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik vacates her seat to become ambassador to the United Nations. The idea is to give a Democrat a better shot at replacing her while stymieing House Republicans — and it’s wrong. A century-old law directs the governor of New York to call a special election

Doing so could force Gaza residents, who almost uniformly hate Jews and the West, to leave and bring more peace to Israel.
