As details were pouring in about the air disaster at Reagan National Airport, there’s been a lot of speculation and horror over the mid-air collision: an American Airlines flight from Kansas crashed into a Blackhawk helicopter on approach. There are no survivors. All 67 people onboard the aircraft and the chopper perished.[snip] We’re learning that the Blackhawk helicopter might have been on an unapproved route before the crash. There was also only one controller in the tower doing the work of two people.

Elsewhere, I read of this so-called "female" co-pilot pf the Blackhawk. Maybe there's more to it, but right away, I smelled D.E.I.!
Literally, liberalism kills!

It is being reported that a plane at Reagan had to abort a landing the previous day due to a military chopper in the wrong airspace.
Can we check to see if it was the same pilot? If so, then we have our answer

Yes, previously reported that the helo was at nearly 400 feet in a special transit corridor that had a hard ceiling of 200 feet. Also the route was along the eastern bank of the Potomac, and the helo was well out into the middle of the very wide river.
Why?

Air traffic control had the american air flight on final before they realized it was too close to another flight that was landing behind it and diverted it to runway 33. The helicopter was following the highway which took it directly into the path of the jet. The helicopter said it had the american flight in sight but they could have mistaken it for the next flight landing behind the american flight. It should have shown up on the ATC screens as a collision alert for at least 20 seconds but for some reason no one alerted either the jet or the helicopter.

No info on the National Guard pilots seems to indicate a coverup.

Re #4, the helo was on a published helo low level route, which was along the eastern bank of the Potomac, not following a highway.
The issue was being both half the wide river closer to the airport than it was supposed to be, and far above the maximum permissible altitude in the helo route. Both of these put it closer to the path of the landing jets. The 'sidestep' diversion from Runway 1 approach to a Runway 33 landing is a fairly normal sort of thing that Approach Control will do to preserve spacing on landing aircraft. I have seen this sort of thing many times landing a busy airports, and that is not likely to have been a significant factor in this crash. Also, the helo pilot specifically requested "visual separation", basically taking the load off the controller to continue to provide separation, since the pilot reported that he had the "traffic" in sight. Apparently the wrong traffic.
Night vision goggles are reported to have been used, and they greatly reduce peripheral vision.
If you want some fairly technical info, here is a good source. This guy is a current Boeing 777 airline pilot and former Air Force pilot and has a channel that spends a lot of time on the technical details of aircraft incidents. Far better info than the media for tech details.

If military training flights in that area are essential, I have a simple solution. Shut down Reagan Airport runways for 10 or so minutes to let the helicopters speed on through, with no chance of colliding with civilian flights.

Yes, from what I understand the helicopter strayed from the highway and went from 200' to 500' into the path of the jet, but there still should have been an ATC alert that a crash was imminent.

If they don't reveal the names of the occupants of the Blackhawk, why? Cover up? Jo Ellis wouldn't have had the stick, would he? I learned early on that one way to lie was to say a lot of stuff, just not the really important things. I count the names as absolutely important.

A woman on TikTok traced the origin of the Blackhawk to a diplomatic residence occupied by Saudi Arabia. I'm sure the video has been taken down.

The name of the female helicopter pilot who was flying at the time is being withheld by the family. I don't know how that is permitted when 67 people are dead. a near miss occurred on Jan 23 when a jet had to abort landing at the last minute because a blackhawk was in their flight path. Was it the same pilot? Not only was the helicopter that caused the crash at the same altitude after rapidly ascending to over 350' when it should have been at 200, flightaware shows the helo at the last second turn west -right into the plane. Something is definitely off.

What a waste of many beautiful human lives. I only hope that those who died did not suffer after hitting the Potomac. This accident was totally avoidable.

The crew of that helicopter were supposedly all members of the US Army and were operating a helicopter owned by the US Government. The US general public therefore is entitled to know the identities of all the soldiers who were aboard the helicopter and were killed. Where in history have family members of soldiers ever had the right to keep a soldier’s identity who was killed on duty from being disclosed? All that does is create conspiracies and suspicions.

The 3rd person on the helicopter should have an ID. She was on an official not private flight on her own private plane. Was she a DEI hire? After all, moron Austin's first act was to have the troops stand down and lecturing them on DEI. If all parents acted like hers, we would not have anyone's ID to this day.
