Henyard's blonde wig and shoes came off in the fracas. She really hates being dissed (disrespected), and her detractor, who made a lot of sense in his diatribe against her, finally called her the "b" word. That did it! Pure entertainment as long as she's not your mayor.

“Sir, why did you pause LNG exports to Europe?” the speaker asked. “I didn’t do that,” Biden replied. He had, three weeks earlier—but he wasn’t aware of what he’d signed. The Republican speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, has had a front-row seat to the intellectual decline of Joe Biden. On Friday, in an interview with Bari Weiss for Honestly, Johnson shared an anecdote that demonstrated just how checked out the outgoing president has been. During the third week of January 2024, Johnson was invited to a meeting at the Oval Office with several of Biden’s top national security advisers and cabinet chiefs.

Five mental health professionals, some of whom already accused Donald Trump of being “dangerous,” prepared a risk assessment for New York state Judge Juan Merchan to consider in his July 11 sentencing decision on Trump, according to forensic psychiatrist Dr. Bandy X. Lee, a longtime critic of the former president. It isn’t clear whether all five are psychiatrists or may have other training. Their risk assessment could be a factor in the severity of Merchan’s sentence for Trump in Manhattan Criminal Court, which could be up to 20 years in prison for all 34 felony counts on which he was convicted last month.

NASA scrapped its Boeing Starliner launch Saturday, some three minutes before it was meant to begin. Saturday was the second attempt at the launch after the May 6 event was postponed just two hours before it was scheduled. The goal is to get the Starliner onto the International Space Station for a one-week stay. Then, it will return to Earth and certify its end-to-end capabilities. This time, NASA found one of its four computers operating the launch was lagging behind the others. As all four computers are meant to perform the same function — a delay in one signals a problem.

A California bill that would allow higher education institutions to prioritize slave descendants in college admissions is drawing harsh critique from some civil rights experts. Introduced in December, the bill, AB 7, is a project of Democrat Assemblymember Isaac Bryan who represents part of Los Angeles. If passed, it would allow the state’s two public higher education systems, the California State University and the University of California, as well as private colleges and universities to “consider providing a preference in admissions to an applicant who is a descendant of slavery, as defined, to the extent it does not conflict with federal law.”

Any NYT reader looking at the buzzy front page headline below would immediately think that Robert F Kennedy Jr. is a madman. Can he really be an advocate for repealing the polio vaccine, a disease that has killed and crippled tens of millions of kids? “Kennedy’s Lawyer Has Asked the F.D.A. to Revoke Approval of the Polio Vaccine” To the ordinary reader, the headline says pretty clearly that Kennedy asked his lawyer to revoke the polio vaccine. The headline makes the shocking accusation that Kennedy is in favor of banning the polio vaccine. There is no other way of interpreting it. But it is flagrantly false and a gross distortion of the truth.
