Pete Hegseth was confirmed as Secretary of Defense in a late night confirmation vote on Friday night.
Vice President JD Vance cast the tie-breaking vote on Friday after toxic RINO Senators McConnell, Murkowski and Collins voted “no.”
WATCH: (Video) It was already known that GOP Senators Murkowski and Collins were going to vote against Hegseth on Friday evening, so all eyes were on McConnell after Fox News’ Chad Pergram said the Kentucky Senator might defect.

And now it's time to ditch Mitch once and for all, and ditch the two witches along with him.

Heard on late night radio that a number of veterans groups are going to work to primary the two Maverick RINOs. Mitch is on his way out, either way. Kind of surprised Fetterman didn't vote for him.

McConnell is a disgusting old RINO who should've been forced out years ago.

McConnell is an OLD turtle and is a prime example of why Republicans always seemed to fail at their agenda even when they won the Presidency and the Congress. The good thing is, there appear to be less committed RINOs than there were and Trumps presence and determination seems to be keeping most of them in line.
McConnell's arguments are specious. It's not like Hegseth is going to be managing the military all alone. He will be setting the tone and holding the intended course. There are people in the military that know how to accomplish Trump and Hegseth's goals. It's a matter of supporting THEM in their efforts to do what Trump wants. Secretary of Defense is the kind of job that even competent people might fail at so ANY choice for the position might fail.
But you need to start out with someone that is committed to your end goals and competent. Now it's up to Hegseth to prove that he was the right choice. He deserved the chance. I hope the Turtle lives long enough to have his face rubbed in Hegseth's success.
And yes, Murkowski and Collins REALLY need to be GONE! I am sick of seeing their names at every point of possible Republican failure and their reasons for their actions are always pathetic. The only thing they can be counted on for is to lose.

This is indeed rich. McConnel had no problem voting yes for idiots who presided over the most disastrous withdrawal in military history and left billions of dollars' worth of equipment to potential US enemies.

“McConnell said he voted “no” because Hegseth failed to demonstrate whether he can manage an annual budget of nearly $3 trillion and 3 million military personnel.”
That is the name of the game for managers in the federal bureaucracy, grow your budget and the number of people who report to you. The way they do that is to ensure they burn all of their budget every year and continually deliver less, insisting on the need for more money and people, the less actual productivity the better…and suck up to the right people. On the contractors side it is just as bad. Every person your company gets to burn a government charge number is money in the bank. Inefficiency is a feature not a bug. This paradigm must change. Let’s go Hegseth. Let’s go DOGE.
McConnell can’t be gone soon enough.

Please release mitch's past confirmation record; let's see how he's voted in the past. KY has to figure out a way to get rid of mcConnell ASAP; the end of his last term is way too far away. He should not be allowed to go out gracefully; he should be shamed heavily. The next time he freezes in public is the opportunity to make his age an issue and get him the heck out of the way. It's not how you start but how you end, and he is definitely a risk.

I forgot this. Speaking of managing a budget! We have individuals in the Congress who spend money like there's no tomorrow. We have bloated budgets, staff, government workers who make more than their civilian counterparts, and the country is in tens of trillions of debt. How many individuals are in Congress? The hundreds of them can't manage jack, and turkey neck is worried about Pete's ability to manage a mere $3 trillion. Get outta here!

Mitch has not done a very good job of managing the nation's $6 Trillion budget, or the 2 million federal employees. It has been obvious for a decade or more that Mitch should be removed from the Senate.

Austin was an incompetent DEI hire and McConnell says that Hegseth wouldn't be up to the task. McConnell has done some truly, inarguably good things. Keeping Garland off of SCOTUS was huge, and he moved a lot of Trump judges through smoothly in the first term. Those are genuine achievements.
This is a genuine, pathetic failure.

Turtle isn't looking too good. Two years tops before he taps out. But until that time they will do exactly what they did with Feinstein. Drag his nearly lifeless body to the senate floor and raise his hand to vote. Who could argue against term limits at this point?
