The world's biggest iceberg — a wall of ice the size of Rhode Island — is lumbering toward a remote island off Antarctica that's home to millions of penguins and seals. The trillion-ton slab of ice — called a megaberg — could slam into South Georgia Island and get stuck or be guided around it by currents. If it gets stuck it could make it hard for penguin parents to feed their babies and some young could even starve. Overall, however, researchers aren't too worried about major harm from the iceberg, named A23a.

Oh no! South Georgia island will tip over!
Of course, the solution is for the US federal government is to spend 50 billion dollars.

So much ICE because of Man Made Global Warming. It makes it snow in the coastal south and more ice in Antarctica. It's amazing how warming makes things colder.
One of the coldest and snowiest winters in KC in about a decade this year.

Thank you AP, for another scare article about climate change. Duly noted, and circular filed.

Those Penguins need to 'evolve' quickly to feed their young.....baby penguins with arms & hands will be able to help out...
I am sure US Federal Government Agency somewhere has an appropriation for bird feeding help with a few million $.....
Or the Feed the poor Jews in Israel NGO or the US SPCA chapters will start running Ads to 'save the Penguins', maybe Weekly Reader can get the Elementary Kids to fund shipping 'Starving' Polar Bears (too stupid to go down there themselves) and fly them down to the South Pole and help eat the starving baby Penguins.....Win Win!!

I didn’t think ice, at least in the ocean, was supposed to exist by now.
Doesn’t liberal hair on fire contribute to global warming? They should be careful.

Trump should appoint Biden to go down there to evacuate all the penguins and steer the iceberg away from the island? With his fifty years in DC spending your tax money Biden should be able to accomplish that mission. Poster #1 has it right if Biden has anything to do with such a mission.

Let nature be nature.
Climate is always changing. Remember, the last Ice Age in North America covered all of Canada, Greenland, New England (including all of New York), most of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, all of Michigan and Minnesota and nearly all of Wisconsin (there's a large section of South Western WI was not covered by ice).
Plus, the Earth's magnetic pole is drifting towards Russia.

It is currently summer everywhere below the equator. Antarctic ice melts every year during summer, then refreezes as we work our way towards winter in the southern hemisphere. This has been going on for millions of years. Six months from today, Antarctica will be frozen over, and ice will be melting in the Arctic. There's nothing to see here, Folks.

Dear White Star Line,
Is it a good time to travel to New York from Southampton? My pregnant bride is anxious to get back to our home with our dog, Kitty.

Only about something less than 25% of the iceberg is visible which means the rest of it is just floating around. I suspect the iceberg will be grounded in the shallow water the closer it gets to the island. It spent quite some time floating around an underwater mountain being pushed around by the currents.

Um, penguins can swim and so can seals. They aren’t stuck in that particular spot.

No worries, the seals, sea lions, and sharks have to eat too.
It is called survival of the fittest. By design.
