What I witnessed was disturbing

On January 21st, 2025, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance attended the Service of Prayer for the Nation at the National Cathedral. As a believer, I attended the service for the purpose of praying for our nation, President Trump, the president’s family, and the success of his administration.
I purposely left the prayer service early after realizing how the pulpit was being used for left-wing activism and not for true worship unto God, to seek His will and wisdom. Mr. President, what accosted you at the prayer service was political–not biblical.

If looks could kill, Melania Trump would be locked up right now. Pure anger shooting from her eyes...with very good reason.

What you saw needs to be taxed - like any other business - so they have some skin in the game when they talk about spending other peoples' money.

Melania is Catholic. I imagine her eyes were rolling as soon as she saw this freak "bishop" enter the pulpit. And then when the political lecture came, she brought out the dagger eyes.

The National cathedral run by a Lesbian, an ugly one at that , that is the shame the Episcopalians suffer.

Studies show that 40% of the drop in attendance at mainline Protestant churches is not because the congregants dislike the local church. But, it is because the congregants no long trust or approve of the liberal elites controlling the denomination at the district level and above.

#3, I was struck by the congressman’s command of Scripture, “rightly dividing the word of truth” (II Tim 2:15).
An astute student of the Word.

That sermon and the place and way it was delivered and to whom summed up a lot of our country’s problems. A prideful and devious woman cloaked herself in the garb of Christian authority and, in a setting of majesty and splendor, mouthed lies to a man of who has been given enormous political power. She is a fraud who has put her leftist vision ahead of Christ’s words. It must bother her tremendously that a man of enormous worldly success and appetite has been chosen to lead. Her words will be a siren song to those who lack wisdom. We will continue to have them among us but must use the advantage we now have to resist them and their influence.

I think Brecheen should lead the prayer service, as it is obvious he knows the scripture, and is well qualified to teach it.

I have several friends, long time members of our local Episcopal Church, who have left. Ours was always pretty liberal, but not hard left as the bishops have become and trying to force radical leftism down the members' throats. Go woke etc. and watch the money dry up.

Where are all the Dems whining about separation of church and state? Oh wait - it's okay when they abuse the pulpit to spew out their political hatred at us. I really think we need to seriously consider removing the tax empt status from any organization - no matter how worthy and legit. Church, temple, mosque, 501c legit like Judicial watch and not so legit like SPLC - just pay a flat 2% tax or something on donations, etc.

Sadly, I do not suffer fools at all. I would have stood up, turned with a flourish, and departed. Press conference to follow. Their tax status would be under review...

One more example why females should not be anywhere near the pulpit or any branch of government. By the way I am an 86 year old female.

I watched a YouTube video where the host indicated this bishop's son works at an organization supported by George Soros. I haven't had a chance to verify this but it wouldn't surprise me if it was true.

This service was a disgrace. The creature at the pulpit should be defrocked, thrown out and not allowed to enter any House of God ever.

The Episcopal Church has gone off the rails, it started with Gay Clergy then Female Priests/Bishops. The worst part is they have gone FAR FAR LEFT. My former Priest in our Episcopal Church retired and quit the Church. He was getting his pension so he did OK. He was really upset at how the Church had gone, as he said, BONKERS. Sadly he passed away last year, a fantastic Human if there ever was one!

Church leaders are to preach the truth of the Holy Bible.
They are to assimilate God's Word into their daily life and Shepard the flock and bring the lost into the fold.
What this person did was an affront to the true Christians who walk daily with Christ.
Scripture in James 3:1: says that the church leaders will be judged more strictly. This Bishop is on shaky ground, wouldn't want to be standing next to her when Jesus Christ comes back to take His people home.

Well the leftist and progressive Democrats have themselves to blame for most likely ending the traditional so-called National Prayer Service at that Cathedral by inserting partisan political issues into the sermons. Only the very wimpiest of Republicans would attend future such leftist and progressive Democrat affairs covertly hiding behind what they claim are legitimate religious services.

Religion is supposed to be about God. All too often, it's not. It turns into some person, pawning themselves off as God. Point in case, the Bishop in this article.

Heard the inauguration events were coordinated by Sen. Amy Klobuchar of MN and that Bishop was previously located in MN.
Sounds like they should lose their tax exempt status after being so political instead of spiritual.
