Intensifying talk in European capitals about sending peacekeepers to Ukraine’s front lines is welcome but it won’t work without American boots on the ground, President Volodymyr Zelensky says at the Davos World Economic Forum meeting. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has been at Davos this week drumming up support, but also attempting to ingratiate himself with President Donald Trump by acting as a conduit for America First messaging to European leaders. Nevertheless, Bloomberg reports the Ukrainian “bristled” at the suggestion the United States wouldn’t put boots on the ground in Ukraine to deter further Russian aggression. The conversation follows months of talk in Europe, particularly in capitals like Paris, Warsaw, and London,

Comments:

Boy, is HE barking up the wrong tree!!! There is no way in H3LL President Trump is sending our troops to fight a war he knows should never have started in the first place!!

Deploying US Troops to the Russia-Ukraine front line is about the last thing that President Trump will do, as he is not a second coming of President Lyndon Johnson who sent US Troops to become involved in what was essentially a Vietnamese civil war that ended after 58,000 and some US Troops lost their lives.

It should be simple to understand. He gone from country to country and instead of troops he gets money. No one in their right mind wants a protracted war by sending young people. He should be talking a "solution" to his situation without bringing other into the mishap. I'm starting to wonder if he wants a war to happen and call for more "troops" down the road.

It’s the logical end game for Z, fighting with OPM, and when that runs out, fighting with other peoples troops. Hundreds of thousands dead, large swaths of lands uninhabitable, substantially destroyed infrastructure…all predictable then, as is the current desperation. Its Tim to cut the losses, not to inflate them.

NO! NO, and Hades No! Let the adults- Putin and Trump- work out an agreement. All along, as NATO expanded ever eastward, Putin said that Ukraine joining NATO was something that Russia would go to war to prevent. The arrogant EuroWeenies and the arrogant 'Rats (Zero's puppets and the HairSniffer's minions) laughed in Putin's face and said "We'll do what we want" and started talking Ukraine joining NATO, so Putin did what he said he would do, and had his Russians attack. Trump said he would end the war- I know he often exaggerates, but I also believe he'll give it a good shot. Adding to that is Putin saying that he wanted to talk to Trump about ending the war. I think they'll stop the fighting. Other than that, I have no idea what they will work out. I guess we'll just have to -as usual- wait and see!

Zelensky is desperate, as he has no more cards to play. He cannot continue without foreign aid, and he is running out of troops. Trump is going to have a come to Jesus meeting with him and show him proof of Ukraine government officials siphoning off military aid into personal bank accounts, perhaps even his own. Then he is going to tell Zelensky the cease fire terms that Russia will agree to. Putin wants the war over as well, since the price of oil is about to drop.

Pete Hegseth will have enough votes to become Secretary of Defense, which is a tremendous victory for Donald Trump. The vote was 50-50, and Vice President JD Vance is expected to break the tie. All eyes were on the votes by Sens. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), as Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) had previously indicated they were going to vote against Hegseth. McConnell voted no, but Tillis ultimately decided to vote for Hegseth's confirmation. Harvard University-affiliated astronomers announced the discovery of a new asteroid zooming precariously close to Earth — only to learn it was actually a Tesla sports car launched by Elon Musk as a publicity stunt seven years ago, scientists said Friday. The Minor Planet Center in Cambridge, Mass., officially registered the new space rock Jan. 2, saying it was spotted hurling through the final frontier roughly 150,000 miles from Earth, according to Astronomy magazine. Its distance was closer to the planet than the moon— prompting the scientists to declare the asteroid had the potential to some day slam into Earth.

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) had good qualities. He pushed through Trump’s judicial nominees during the first presidency, got his tax cuts passed, and is a noted legislative strategist and tactician. It doesn’t mean he always bats a thousand, but McConnell got key portions of the Trump agenda passed after the 2016 election. When the Senate voted 51-49 yesterday to advance Pete Hegseth’s nomination as Secretary of Defense, I assumed he was in. But I learned earlier today that there was grave doubt about his confirmation, because two more Republican senators–in addition to Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski–were likely to vote No. So tonight’s vote held plenty of suspense. Only when Thom Tillis of North Carolina announced that he was a Yes did Republicans breathe a sigh of relief. Mitch McConnell was the other potential turncoat, and he did, indeed, vote No, along with Collins and Murkowski. So the tally was 50-50, and JD Vance broke the tie in Hegseth’s (and Trump’s) favor.
