The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) late Monday launched a suit challenging an executive order from President Trump seeking to end birthright citizenship for children born in the U.S. to parents who are not lawfully present. The federal government’s deportation agency has overturned a Biden-era ban on using words like “illegal” and “alien” when referring to immigrants, The Washington Times has learned.
Caleb Vitello, acting director at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, announced the change in a memo to employees on Tuesday.
“Moving forward, for all communications materials and for internal and external communications, ICE employees are directed to use the lexicon consistent with the Immigration and Nationality Act and the language historically used by the agency,” he wrote. That revokes a 2021 policy imposed on the orders of former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that banned “illegal,” “alien” and “assimilation” as demeaning terms

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department is directing its federal prosecutors to investigate for potential criminal charges any state or local officials who stand in the way of beefed-up enforcement of immigration laws under the Trump administration, according to a memo to the workforce obtained by The Associated Press on Wednesday.
The memo, written by acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, also instructs the Justice Department’s civil division to work with a newly formed Sanctuary Cities Enforcement Working Group to identify state and local laws and policies that “threaten to impede” the Trump administration’s immigration efforts and potentially challenge them in court.
President Trump has implemented a One Flag Policy for American outposts, meaning only the Stars and Stripes can be flown at the buildings.
The order was issued by new Secretary of State Marco Rubio and stops American outposts in the states and abroad from flying flags associated with LGBTQ and Black Lives Matter, according to The Washington Free Beacon.
“Starting immediately, only the United States of America flag is authorized to be flown or displayed at U.S. facilities, both domestic and abroad, and featured in U.S. government content,” the order says. “The flag of the United States of America united all Americans under the universal principles of justice, liberty and democracy.

This morning was a good morning, especially for this country. Besides having someone in the White House who's all about this country, his team is rock solid and moving into place.
The first one officially onboard is someone I've known for a long time and always thought was meant to do great things serving this nation. I couldn't be prouder or feel better about a cabinet officer. He'll be one helluva Secretary of State. Rubio didn't waste time shaking hands and introducing himself to staffers at the State Department headquarters while chitchatting about pronouns around the coffee machine in the breakroom, either.

Sure, I cared about cultural issues, but as a libertarianish conservative, I cared more about taxes, spending, and regulation. I would, with exceptions, accept the idea that culture-war issues were best left to the extremists on both sides because the real ideological war was between socialists and free marketeers.

The FBI is releasing new information in their investgation in connection with the fatal shooting of a U.S Border Patrol agent.
A spokesperson with U.S. Customs and Border Protection has confirmed to NBC5 that a Border Patrol agent and another person were killed Monday afternoon during a traffic stop in Coventry, Vermont. During the traffic stop, federal investigators say Agent David “Chris” Maland exchanged gunfire with one of the subjects. Maland was fatally shot. A third person was injured and is now in custody. They are being treated at an area hospital for their injuries.
