The Safeway Food Store in the Filmore District of San Francisco has been beset with shoplifters and other criminal activity for years. The company finally decided in December that it had enough and was closing the doors of the store for good. George Gibbs, a long-time shopper at the store, acknowledges the problems. "I've seen people running out the door with stuff and running across the parking lot," he said. "I've seen folks walk out in handcuffs for stealing something." Black Lives Matter activists are now demanding that the store stay open or that another low-cost food store take its place.

Comments:

Black people are smart enough to know why the market is closing, but there's more to be gained by BLM making the store owner a KKK member. Some locals KNOW who's doing this but they won't betray a Brother.

Black Lives Monetization should set up a civilian force to ensure law and order. Of course, they would only use such a force to enforce their own dominance over the area, which would be worse than random crime. Too bad they're thieves instead of social builders.

A ridiculous demand from a despicable organization. With all the ill-gotten money BLM has amassed, perhaps the activists should use that capital to open and manage the replacement store. That would be good for laughs.

Its unconscionable - - that a store would not allow the community members it's supposed to serve to come in a take whatever they want. What kind of social conscience is that? "Come and get it" should be the mandatory social justice policy.

The Safeway is serving as a not-for-profit food pantry now. Have the mansion-buying BLM higher-ups buy the facility from Safeway and operate their own food bank from it.

Demand that the store stay open? How in Hades is that going to fly? What is BLM going to do if Safeway closes? Burn down the building? That’ll fix it. Let that be a warning to any other store that might set up in BLM neighborhoods.

Seems that every store in the area is a "low-cost" store when everyone gets a 5 finger discount. I suggest they lock the doors, bar the windows and let them order on-line and come by for pick-up.

Demand away, fools, but unless you can stop your 'bros' from being thieves (not a chance) or come up with the $7K per day, forget it. It's a business, not welfare. If your group wasn't such crooks you could have a more normal place, but criminals wreck everything, and one small subgroup does something like 70% of all violent crime. Guess who?

They can "demand" all they want. Their demands are increasingly falling on deaf ears, especially the one whose initials are DJT. It's absolutely mind-boggling how the BLM and their other allies think. Years of being told that they are oppressed, want favorable hiring for jobs they are unqualified for, welfare for them and their illegitimate children, plus putting in jail a cop who had a drugged out black criminal die on him. Now they want reparations. They should be paying us taxpayers reparations instead.

The “clicks” you hear around town are the sounds of “public” toilet locks snapping shut. The Great Loo Lockdown is gathering steam as businesses protect their bathrooms, and their customers, from the insane, incontinent souls who move in and leave them unusable and disgusting for everyone else. Starbucks is the latest chain to announce that its locations nationwide are henceforth off-limits to loiterers, drug users, panhandlers, and bathroom vandals. Restricting toilets that were previously truly “public” is typically done in the name of providing better service to paying customers.

How much more damage can President Biden do to this country on his final days in office? A lot. Before dawn Friday morning, the octogenarian Democrat proudly pardoned or commuted the prison sentences of a record number of individuals the far-left hailed as guilty of “non-violent” drug offenses. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist, or even a Republican, to see that many of these hardened criminals are anything but peaceful. Take, for example, Dwayne Appling, 37, of Illinois. He’s just one of the thousands of soon-to-be-freed drug traffickers, an armed and dangerous career criminal and gang banger.

This duplicity not only undermines public trust but also raises serious concerns about the company’s role in shaping public discourse. A glaring example of Meta’s hypocrisy is its handling of political figures. As I said the day after his tremendous victory, he should skip all the inaugural bollocks in DC and just have a brisk businesslike swearing-in on the Rio Grande by a justice of the peace (Coolidge-style) followed by 47's personal arrest and deportation of the first "undocumented" migrant to attempt to walk into America on his watch. It was a wholly serious suggestion - because America is dying before your eyes and there is no time to waste.

The US Treasury Department will start taking "extraordinary measures" next week to avoid risking a default on government debt, Secretary Janet Yellen said Friday, days before President-elect Donald Trump takes office. With the government reaching its borrowing limit, the department would start making the moves on Tuesday, the day after the inauguration, Yellen said in a letter to congressional leaders. That will mean Trump's administration has to grapple immediately with the issue of the debt ceiling. In the past, Congress has routinely voted to lift this bar, but that tool has become a contentious issue, with Republican budget hawks calling for drastic spending reductions instead.
