When Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and her staff of clowns bungled a four-day ramble in 2023 to show off the wonder of electric vehicles, the lasting impression would be the report of her advance team blocking an open charger so she wouldn’t have to wait for one. A federal report, however, reveals details that cast the entire charade in an even worse light.
The Granholm tour was to take her from Charlotte, N.C., to Memphis, Tenn., and was intended to justify the billions of taxpayers’ dollars the Biden administration was pouring into green energy initiatives. The message was lost when it was learned, two months after the incident,

More and more it seems like everything the Leftist government does is all smoke and mirrors. Everything is propaganda and lies. Further, rather than the media being a watchdog of government, media seems to part of the circus show and fully involved in sheltering any faux pas that occur.
This should, at a minimum, cause citizens to doubt what Leftist government says unless there is strong and clear evidence that things are on the up and up. Evidence that does NOT involve the untrustworthy media.

I've come to the conclusion that there is NOTHING that liberals can't screw up. This article shows just how disgusting and privileged they think they are. After all, it's only the little people that were swept aside.

First it is the government. Second it is a Democrat run government. Finally, they are trying to demonstrate the convenience and viability of EVs. That is a trifecta.

They were busted big time but that trip was no worse than Joe and the Doctor taking trips to the beach in a 747 almost every weekend of his sham presidency. To get away with cheating and waste in the government you must be above a certain pay grade or be one of the approved DEI colors. Imagine how bad the charging station problem would be if more than 1% of the population drove an EV.

Can’t find chargers? Can’t find hotels with chargers? This crew could not plan their way out of a paper bag!
The trip did convince me that distance travel by EV’s is a problem. Time to spare? Spend it at the chargers.

#6, that's government efficiency, don't you know. But also 42 people who can be called to testify, if needed.
Since this was an official government act by a Cabinet member, the entire trip should be documented and submitted for the Congressional Record.

When I traveled on government expense, I was extremely careful to follow the rules and select hotels which fell within the per diem rates, and to eat at restaurants which the food allowance would cover. In my contractor job, anything over the government allowed rate was "on you" and would not be covered.
EVs remain a joke.

It started as a dream, soon turned into a sham. From there on it has always been a sham, and will always be a sham.

I love old cars and presently own a few, including a '28 Ford Model A Tudor that I guarantee would make the trip from my home near New Orleans to Memphis, TN. Ninety years from now, no one is going to be restoring an EV and attempting a trip like this one. I'll be glad when these electric fire-starters are a distant memory. As an aside, has anyone checked to see if it was a charging EV that lit the Kalifornia fires?

They should have just had a large ICE truck pulling a diesel generator follow them at a distance.

total trip? 635miles, 9hr58min drive...they took 4 days, brought 42 people, spent $125,000 to do it. $2976.00 per person. $744.00/day. Through a region where people are "Lucky" to earn $744/week, many getting less than $2976.00 a month...with TWO workers in the home.An area famously portrayed in print and film for it's poverty, rusty crusty old cars from the 60's, beat up trucks, unpainted shacks.
This does not include the aircraft that flew them all from DC and back....or the costs of returning the rented/borrowed vehicles to their sources.
