Apparently there aren't enough lesbian first responders in Appalachia, because the Biden administration has decided to leave the victims of Hurricane Helene out in the cold. Literally out in the cold. As a major snowstorm barrels into Western North Carolina, FEMA has decided to kick North Carolinians who have seen their lives upended by the hurricane out of their temporary shelters and into their pickup trucks to ride it out with their kids. I follow a lot of people on X who are still engaged in the relief effort, and the cleanup is nowhere near done.

Comments:

I mentioned that to Wifey last night. No one should have to endure what's happened in these tragedies. It's yet to be seen which one gets attention first.

Now that the multi-millionaire's homes got torched in one of the media capitols of the world, the homes in western North Carolina and other places will be forgotten by the media. For the most part, they already have.

I've seen some good YouTube videos of the massive reconstruction of the creeks and rivers in this area. They have to go into the river beds and haul out the rocks and gravel and put it back on the bank to have a place to rebuild the roads, since it was all washed out. Massive reconstruction, big track hoes and huge off road trucks moving millions of tons of debris.

At least the Amish are building the small homes. Probably churches and others are still helping but you never hear about it. The Diaper fell all over himself to tell CA everything is all right. He will take care of it.

I have made donations to help the people in NC, Tenn, Ky and Georgia. I am sorry for the people in California who lost their homes and realize they are not all rich. There are more people in California who have the money to rebuild and many celebs who have multiple homes in other locations

On Jan 20 Trump should announce an aid package for Western NC and ignore CA. Let them live in the cesspool they created until they stop electing officials who check off boxes.

Dramatic video footage captured the moment a 69-year-old homeless man stabbed the thugs who mercilessly terrorized him on a Queens subway train, killing one and wounding another. In a twist of transit justice, it’s the surviving goons who are now behind bars, prosecutors said. “The victim was accosted, without provocation, and our investigation has shown that he defended himself while attempting to retrieve his property,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement Wednesday.

Be careful what you wish for. A vocal proponent of the state’s controversial congestion pricing plan who is nudging New Yorkers into the city’s troubled transit system was attacked at a Manhattan subway station over the weekend. Layla Law-Gisiko, president of the City Club of New York, which sued Gov. Kathy Hochul to implement the unpopular toll for motorists driving into Manhattan, said she was left bruised and battered after the Saturday afternoon attack at the 23rd Street station. Today at around 3:30 PM, I entered the subway station at 23rd Street and 5th Avenue,” Law-Gisiko, 53, wrote in a post on X following the attack.

Canada is a lovely country with many lovely people. And while its federal government is dysfunctional and occasionally tyrannical when it comes to defending civil rights, it has much to offer. It has a well-educated populace with remarkably good manners, some fine educational institutions, and a largely functioning economy. I suggest that we only take half the country and leave the rest to sink or swim on its own. [snip] But then what? After all, this is a country that suffered under Justin Trudeau for nine years! Something must be wrong with it--at least with certain parts of Canada.

The Biden administration is banning certain natural gas water heaters from the market as part of its climate change agenda, a move critics say will jack up energy costs for low-income and senior households. The move in the final days of the administration will take non-condensing, natural gas-fired water heaters off the shelves by 2029 in a bid to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, which climate change advocates and President Biden say cause global warming. The new rules will require new tankless gas water heaters to use about 13% less energy than today’s least efficient tankless models.

The Big Apple subway system has been wracked by five straight days of violence amid a spike in transit crime — despite the NYPD, National Guard and even the crime-crusading Guardian Angels on patrol. The horrifying Dec. 22 torching death of a New Jersey straphanger on a Brooklyn F train was only the beginning of the latest underground crime spree, which has seen five people stabbed or slashed and a 45-year-old straphanger thrown under a Manhattan subway train since Sunday. For some city politicians, it’s reached the breaking point. “New Yorkers do not feel safe on our subways, despite the nonsense that Gov. [Kathy] Hochul is spouting,”

A report by an immigration-centric think tank reveals that nearly 400,000 illegal births of so-called “anchor babies” occurred in the United States in the year 2024. As reported by Breitbart, the data from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), the total includes 300,000 anchor babies born to illegal aliens, while another 72,000 were born to foreigners in the country as tourists, on worker visas, or on student visas. The report highlights the ongoing threat of demographic displacement due to the practice of birthright citizenship, a misinterpretation of the Constitution which says that anyone simply born on American soil is to automatically be considered an American citizen.

Bryan Bowers and his business partner Mike Licata planned to build medical office space across from a new hospital in downtown Utica, New York. The Oneida County Industrial Development Agency nixed that plan by agreeing to take the property so a competing business next door could use it for a parking lot — a land grab that a state appeals court approved last February. The US Supreme Court invited such abuses with its 2005 ruling in Kelo v. City of New London, which blessed the use of eminent domain to promote economic development by transferring property from one private owner to another. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who will now be forever known as the weirdo who ran with Kamala Harris in 2024 and failed, is now endorsing gun control activist David Hogg in his bid to be vice chair of the Democratic National Committee. The 2024 election showed that Democrats have a serious problem with men, who are fleeing their party in droves. It’s not clear how having David Hogg in a leadership position would do anything to help fix this problem for them. None of that seems to matter to Walz, who believes Hogg will provide the ‘courageous leadership our party needs right now.’

I was surprised, if not shocked, when two A-list celebrities, country singers Garth Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood, took the microphones at the State Funeral for Jimmy Carter yesterday and began performing “Imagine,” written by former Beatle John Lennon in 1971. The song is widely described as an “atheistic anthem” and incredibly is said to be one of the late 39th president’s favorite songs. "Imagine there’s no heaven It’s easy if you try. No hell below us Above us, only sky. . . Imagine all the people Livin’ for today Ah Imagine there’s no countries It isn’t hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion, too" To me, it sounds like a globalist woke anthem
