President-elect Donald Trump filed an emergency petition to the United States Supreme Court Wednesday morning in an effort to block his sentencing in New York v. Trump.
Judge Juan Merchan set Trump's sentencing in New York v. Trump for Jan. 10 after a jury found the now-president-elect guilty of falsifying business records in the first degree, stemming from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's investigation. Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges and has appealed the ruling but was rejected last week by Merchan.

Why isn’t Stormy Daniels in prison for blackmail/extortion? Have I missed something?

The Supreme Joke has an unblemished recorded of siding against Refubliocan presidents. I expect no less from the Supreme Joke in this case. The Supreme Joke doesn't care about the constitution or rule of law. Only its reputation and ability to avoid doing its job. Trump will be sentenced Friday. The Supreme Joke will sit on its hands.

Having failed us before, the Supines will most likely fold again. Hopefully not.

This lawfare is a big part of the reason that Trump won the election! These penny-anti judges and prosecutors are a pox on our legal system.

The Sureme Court is the court of last resort. Trump is jumping ahead of the NY and federal courts. I would not be the least bit surprised if the SC declines to hear the case at this time.

Mr. President, should this appeal fail and the kangaroo court proceeding occur, then please do not appear before "Judge" Merchan. Refuse to appear, but send your attorneys. While we have no way of knowing for sure what "Judge" Merchan will do, we cannot rule out the chance that he will actually impose a prison sentence that is to begin *immediately* -- that is before Jan. 20. Do not permit the Corrupt Empire of NY to incarcerate you before your inauguration. And should "Judge" Merchan actually attempt to impose a sentence, be certain to avoid NY and all *blue* states until after you have taken the oath. That means avoiding Joint Base Andrews, too, since it's in MD... Fly into Quantico, VA instead on Jan. 20. And move the "Thank You" rally scheduled for Jan. 19 to a venue in VA as well...

They likely won't hear the case for the reason pointed out by poster #8.
On the other hand, perhaps they have had enough of this corrupt lawfare against Trump.
We shall see.

Is there anyone in authority that can stop this injustice? There's supposed to be. This all shows how corrupt the government has become, at all levels. The entire case is BS and everybody knows it.

The Roberts Court that refused to hear evidence of the cheat in 2020.
IMO he will be sentenced, but I don't believe that Merchant has the balls to actually try to have him serve time.
Did trump[ have sex with Stormy Daniels? I don't know, and I don't care.
Did Trump pay off Stormy Daniels.? No he didn't Michael Cohen did.
Bragg had to change the law to bring this case to court, any righteous Judge would have tossed it out.

making america strong again requires that pdt get all these crooks in the legal system,
in congress, in business, into the dc gulag
--then dump the dc and gulag admins into the cells as well. they are all reckless wanton
destroyers of law and order, and lives, and safety.

The Wise Latina is the one who gets to decide matter from NY for the SC. She could ask the full court, but she is "the Wise Latina", and given her anti-Trump history, the answer will be a big NO! Trump should go through with the sentencing and then appeal to the NY Appeals Court then the Full SC if needed.

The decision to review an appeal rests solely with the Supreme Court. So, they could decide to take this appeal. It may require the vote of four plus justices to accept the review, but it is entirely up to The Supremes. The situations is serious and desperate, and the issues have a direct impact on the office of the President. I think, if they don't step in we are going to see this law stuff continuing for the next four years.
