Christians around the globe celebrate Christmas this week, what they believe to be the miracle of the Incarnation—that God came into this world by being born as a baby, and living a human life on this earth, believing this to be the fulfillment of centuries of prophecy.
Jesus of Nazareth was born around 4 B.C. in Bethlehem, a small town in Israel about five miles south of Jerusalem. Christians believe that he was born to a virgin named Mary. She would likely have been around 13 to 14 years old, and was formally engaged to Joseph, who would have been around age 15 or 17.

And thereto, I recommend a listen to Handel's magnificent setting of this text. Along with the imperishable 'Hallelujah Chorus' from his oratorio 'The Messiah', 'For Unto Us' is a magnificent chorus. It is joyous, lively, and, despite its contrapuntal sophistication, achieves a most thrilling effect. The power and majesty of the 'Wonderful, Counsellor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince Of Peace' sections---with the chorus suddenly in unified rhythm---are tremendously uplifting.
The message; the music; the Miracle. Merry Christmas L-dotters!

Merry Christmas my friends. Take time to deeply consider the Incarnation. What it means and what it proves in this vast, infinite universe. In a world wrecked by sin and false solutions.
Happy birthday, Jesus.

The supernatural miracle was in the pregnancy, as Jesus was eventually born as Adam was created, minus the "old sin nature" of man. The "spotless lamb of God" was born unto a woman who was a direct descendent of King David in order to fulfill a prophecy made to David stating that he would have an heir who would sit on his throne and rule over Israel forever.
The greatest gift that anyone can receive in time is the gift of Eternal Life with God, and that gift is available FREE to anyone who Believes in Him for salvation. We are all born "enemies of God" by inheriting Adam's original sin, but through FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are supernaturally reborn into "new creatures in Christ" with everlasting life.
Merry Christmas !!

WE are here on this earth because WE were born in sin...and God sent His Son to forgive US our sins and claim everlasting life in the hereafter....so as WE celebrate His birthday...let US rejoice in the promise that His suffering on the cross was for our sake...so WE might enjoy the blessings...now if you have a problem with that message...then it's okay...you have free will....WE must always remember that it's God's will for you to choose....

Historians often remark that Jesus was not born on December 25th, but that the date was chosen to coincide with some Pagan holiday. They have suggested that Jesus was probably born during the month of March because the star the shepherds saw was actually a comet, and after studying astronomical data, there was a comet during that time of the year during the period of time Jesus was born. Either way, the time of the year is irrelevant. It's that it happened at all is the miracle.

I love Luke's telling of the story, in the King James translation:
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them,
Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
Merry Christmas. 2000 years ago a child was born to take away our sins. We rejoice.
