A California teen and her mom claim they were attacked in a crowded mall parking lot and robbed of $3,000 as they clashed with another group over a parking spot amid the holiday shopping rush.
The dispute happened when Natalie Martinez, 19, and her mother, Patricia Cupa went to the Citadel Outlets in Commerce, Ca. to return a sweater at one of the stores on Wednesday, according to KTLA.
The duo had made it to the packed shopping center just after 5 p.m. and had trouble finding a parking spot, forcing them to drive around the lot before the teen eventually found an open space.

House Republicans are currently debating a continuing resolution that would keep the government running through March 14, however many are heavily criticizing leadership for trying to push through unnecessary provisions negotiated behind closed doors.
The over 1,500-page spending measure will receive votes from both Democrats and Republicans and is being pushed by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson. Johnson said in September that he has “no intention of going back” to the “terrible tradition” of a Christmas omnibus.[snip] Here are some of the provisions drawing the biggest blowback from conservatives, many of which were identified on X by users like Small Gov Lizard:

The Idaho Board of Education approved efforts to ban diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in public universities on Wednesday.
After months of debating, the board unanimously agreed on a resolution that Idaho institutions cannot “require specific structures or activities related to DEI.”
In summary, institutions “shall establish and maintain equality of opportunity for all students regardless of personal identity characteristics,” “ensure that no central offices, policies, procedures, or initiatives are dedicated to DEI ideology” and “ensure that no employee or student is required to declare gender identity or preferred pronouns.”

Floridians will no longer be able to access the most popular porn site next year due to a row about age verification laws.
Pornhub will geo-block people in the sunshine state from accessing its website from January 1, like it has done for a dozen other states.
The move is a response to a new bill in Florida that requires adult websites to verify the age of people who use their sites, by using government-issued IDs or similar documentation.
Pornhub said it does not want minors accessing its site, but believes the law puts 'everybody's privacy at risk.'

There has been a development in the Ukraine war - that is, if you trust the source:
North Korean troops have been killed fighting Ukrainian forces in Russia's Kursk border region, the US has said.
These would be the first reported casualties since it emerged in October that North Korea had sent around 10,000 troops to reinforce Russia's war effort.
Ukraine's military intelligence agency, the GUR, has also said at least 30 North Korean troops had been killed or wounded in fighting over the weekend.[snip] Independently verifying US claims is a tricky business, at least for the next month or so.

CNN is in quite a bit of hot water after a desperate attempt to go viral went horribly wrong in Syria.
It all started when the left-wing network's Chief International Correspondent Clarissa Ward produced a story about how she and others supposedly released a man from a prison formerly controlled by Bashar al-Assad. CNN immediately published the video of the ordeal, bragging about how their cameras "caught the moment" he was "freed."
Ward then went to social media to garner clicks, calling it "one of the most extraordinary moments" she had ever witnessed.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas insisted that there is nothing the federal government can do about the recent New Jersey drones because he has no “authority.” He told concerned Americans that the drones are not threatening to the United States, stating that they are most likely just “convenience store drones” or “planes.”
“We can't just shoot a drone out of the sky,” Mayorkas told CNN. “They’re very, well, maybe drones in the sky, of course, but those are commercially available. One can go into a convenience store and buy a small drone.”

A newly minted and massive Iranian drone carrier was captured in new satellite images sailing in the Persian Gulf this week — the ship’s first reported sighting since leaving its home port for the first time in mid-November.
The satellite images taken Thursday by commercial operator Maxar Technologies shows three Iranian drone ships in the waters off the country’s coast as theories have swirled in the US that Iran could be behind the mysterious drone sightings across the tri-state area, according to Business Insider.
Iran’s new carrier — the Shahid Bagheri — is a converted shipping container that was outfitted to support drone operations and was last seen on Nov. 12,

Given the state of affairs in Ukraine and the Middle East and the rise of China as a chief U.S. adversary, one would assume that the Department of Defense has its hands full combating real threats to U.S. national security. One would also assume that under the fraught geopolitics of the current world, the Department of Defense (DoD) would be harnessing its precious resources toward identifying future menaces that literally pose an existential threat to the security of the United States. [snip]
the leaders of the DoD think otherwise. In fact, the DoD believes that the climate crisis is a “national security priority.”

Texas heard that the Biden administration was auctioning off parts of the border wall, so they decided to grab their little paddle and a fist full of cash and get to bidding.
Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick made the announcement during an appearance with Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Thursday night.
"I don't know if you've heard the latest today, Laura, but Joe Biden is now hauling off the border wall that's been lying down for years, and he wants to auction it off starting at $5 apiece," Patrick revealed.
