Automakers are furious after California moved forward with plan to ban the sale of all gas-powered cars by 2035.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Wednesday granted two requests from California to enforce strict standards for vehicle emissions after it found opponents were not able to meet the legal burden to how it was inconsistent with the federal Clean Air Act.
'California has longstanding authority to request waivers from EPA to protect its residents from dangerous air pollution coming from mobile sources like cars and trucks,' EPA Administrator Michael Regan said in a statement.

EPA ruling is good until January 20, 2025. Michael Regan is a nonperson for issuing this last minute ruling that will almost immediately be reversed.

Every time I hear about California it seems to have gone even farther around the bend than the last time I heard about it. Eventually, it will get bad enough there the people will vote the Democrats out of power. Unfortunately, they aren’t there, yet.

Where will the electricity to charge these cars come from? Where will people charge their cars? How will Newsom power the 100% electric car fleet when evacuating from wildfires, earthquakes, or one of California's many other natural disasters? How about those 8 lane freeways backed up bumper to bumper with no charge left and you are stuck in the middle of it? Newsom hasn't really thought this through.

Ten years and untold billions of dollars to build an infrastructure that will take your society back about sixty years. California doesn't have enough electric power now. Do you hear yourself, Hair-Gel? Are you really that stupid or do you just act that way?

#3, reminds me of Jeff Daniels in "Dumb and Dumber": "Just when I thought you couldn't GET any dumber, you go and pull something like this...and TOTALLY redeem yourself!"
California is estimated to lose 4 (count 'em, FOUR) congressional seats/electoral college votes for 2028. They already lost one off their all time high of 55. Looks like they are trying to drive out (so to speak) even more voters

Uhhh... one question, California... where are all the new electric power plants that will be needed to run electric cars?

Oh this is delightful. California is about to become like Cuba where they still drive ancient cars because they can't get and can't afford new ones. This will be a great meme, all Californians driving around in OLD VW bugs and VW minivans. Clown cars anyone?

Yet another freedom killing decision by unelected bureaucrats and a liberal dictator with no common sense. As of now this isn’t going to happen. California can’t power their state now and there’s no plan to fix it. EV’s are expensive and unreliable. At some point this will have to be reversed. If Newsome is trying to audition to run for President he might want to rethink this one.

I will drive to California in my old clunker and enjoy the scenery, then I will sell it to a Californian at a premium, and come home and buy a new gas powered car.

WE all know this ruling is not gonna take effect....so....then why now...I suspect some pay back to legislators to get them on the books for the next election....Newscum has millions in his pocket ...with all the illegal aliens voting...so he can use President Trump as the bad guy when President Trump kills this bill and Californians are set free from the dictates of the fast talking governor...who...I think will endorse heals up harris as his replacement....

Let them do it. I've done the calculations for how much electrical capacity it would take for California to replace all its gas vehicles with EVs given what their current generating capacity is and it's not even remotely possible. Their collapse will be epic. It will be a great cautionary tale for the rest of the country.

Our 80 year old friend came back to Minnesota from California to have my brother do an auto body painting estimate on his Crown Vic.
He parked in the middle of our yard not wanting to drive it to the shop. Andy said why not? Because it doesn't have reverse! He drove from Los Angeles nearly to Minneapolis without reverse!
He said things are soon to be so bad in California being 80 yrs old driving around without reverse will be common. What other choice will people have who won't trust or can't afford electric?

Good. More and more people will be moving out of this horrid state, so much so that they will lose Congressional seats and electoral college votes. Of course, they will still engage in massive cheating, but it will be harder to justify.

California electrical power grid can barely meet the demand for power now. By requiring all cars to be EVs by 2035 will explode the demand at the same time they want to shut down all fossil fuel electrical power production facilities.
This is irrational!

We, the consumers. pay extra for all of the Kailfornika regulations through higher prices on goods produced in and passing throug.
Interstate commerce restrictions should be applied to limit price increases and transportation costs.
We, the other States. have no representation in the Kalifornika legislature so it is a form of taxation without representation. If the idiots there want all of the regulation then let them pay for them in internal taxes.
Or the other States should place a surcharge on all goods and services provided to Kalifornika

Yeah, good luck with that plan, Fuhrers.
#2, #23, Californians don't vote. The gov't just count ballots submitted. Anyone can submit a ballot. Even from other states or countries. It may not be legal but it isn't well policed. This is how California became a Demzi monopoly state.
