ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos is “apoplectic” and “humiliated” by the network’s decision to pay $16 million to settle a defamation lawsuit brought by President-elect Donald Trump, The Post has learned. Stephanopoulos, who claimed Trump had raped E. Jean Carroll during an interview with Republican lawmaker Nancy Mace, was particularly upset about being forced to apologize, a source with knowledge of the situation said. (Photo) Another source told The Post that “George is defiant.” A third source said Stephanopoulos “is a very guarded person. His circle of trust is so small, and a lot of them don’t work [at ABC anymore].“ The first insider added that

George is apoplectic because he got caught, and suffered some consequence--but the $16 million came from ABC, not him. George is upset because he thought he had a reputation. He did. A very bad one.

It's absolutely wonderful that the media is finding out there are limits to what you can say. They had thought they were untouchable. They aren't and that is a chilling message to the media corporations because it tells them they CAN be held accountable for their actions. Further, this was the first shot across their bow. Repetitions of such behavior tend to earn more severe punishment because "You should have known better.". So the corporate lawyers are going to be deciding where to place the bumpers on the twits like Georgie. If the twits don't learn, news could become like The View, with numerous apologies and program notes distancing the program from the twits. After it continues, the twits will find themselves without a platform and generally persona non grata because they were too arrogant and dumb to respect guidance from their corporate bosses. It's great to see the impotent fury of these jerks. It's also highly satisfying that they are destroying themselves. All Trump had to do was accurately label them "Fake News" and their egos did the rest.

Hats off to the judge who said Stephanopoulos and the big brass would have to sit for depositions, which also provokes discovery. I'm convinced ABC was paid directly by the Democrats or the administration to smear Trump. There is a paper trail of this that would be unearthed in a trial. It's just been revealed that the Dems paid Reuters $300m. I'm sure the big networks were paid $ billions!

Trump noted that the African American patriot was “one of the first in the nation to spill blood in that very, very tough time,” and went on to announce that his statue will be erected in the coming National Garden of American Heroes — a project the president put forth in his first term, and has revived. The new “statue park,” Trump explained, will “honor hundreds of our greatest Americans to ever live, including countless black American icons.”
