Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown made clear during a farewell speech Tuesday that he does not plan to abandon his career-long fight for American workers despite suffering a bitter defeat last month in Ohio, where it’s become nearly impossible for his party to win statewide elections. “This is my last speech on the floor this year, but it is not, I promise you, the last time you will hear from me,” [Snip] The state’s political observers are already floating his name as a possible contender for the Senate seat being vacated by Republican JD Vance, the vice president-elect, or for the governorship.

Federal prosecutors in Minnesota are asking a judge to reconsider his decision to allow former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin to re-examine George Floyd's heart as part of an appeal after he was convicted of violating Floyd's civil rights. [Snip] Magnuson, however, said the evidence would help Chauvin's defense investigate information from Dr. William Schaetzel, who contacted Chauvin's original trial lawyer, Eric Nelson, and argued that Floyd died of a specific type of heart attack. Chauvin's new legal team said Nelson never told his client about the doctor's theory, and therefore, no testing was done to try and confirm it.

Officials in Texas say they are preparing to buy and store border wall materials being auctioned off by the federal government and keep them in place until the Trump administration takes office in January. Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick reacted to reports of continued auctions of border wall materials that have been left near the border after the sudden stop of border wall construction in 2021. "I will bid on all of that wall, and we will buy it in Texas, and we will give it to Donald Trump," Patrick said on "The Ingraham Angle." "I’ve got a billion dollars in my pocket to do it," he said.

Donald Trump Jr.'s new flame Bettina Anderson's social media activity and public persona is causing considerable concern within the MAGA world. Many divulged to DailyMail.com that there are worries she is a liability for Don Jr. and the president-elect who will just cause a 'headache' for the administration. [Snip] ...social media posts from Anderson show her views haven't always aligned with the MAGA platform. [Snip] Some claim she is only looking to gain social media notoriety and 'grift' her way to fame. [Snip] She repeatedly brags about being childless.

It has been reported that Nancy Pelosi was refused Holy Communion at the U.S. Capitol yesterday. Archbishop Timothy Broglio reportedly refused Pelosi, a self-described Catholic who advocates for abortion, the Sacrament after a Mass he celebrated in the Capitol on December 12 in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patron saint of the Americas. [Snip] However, as CNA reported, “Broglio agreed to meet with Pelosi but did not give her Communion.” [Snip] “Michelle Gress, executive director at the office of government relations at the USCCB, told CNA that Broglio declined Pelosi’s request as the Mass had already ended and they ‘didn’t consecrate extra Hosts,” the outlet reported.

Let me begin with a phrase I never used to start a story in 45 years as a TV reporter: “I may be wrong.” This entire piece may be wrong, but those 45 years on the air and 2000+ hours as a pilot tell me I’m right. The MSM floods their newscasts with reports of drone-terrified citizens... [Snip] Not everyone closes their curtains...word got out that Mrs. Sushbaum in 7B puts on a great show every night. [Snip] Maybe it is Martians, Russians, Iranians, or Lord knows who. If it is, they sure traveled a long way to see Mrs. Sushbaum in her birthday suit.

Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi underwent a successful hip replacement in Germany after sustaining injuries during a trip to Luxembourg, a spokesperson said on Saturday. [Snip] "Speaker Pelosi is grateful to U.S. military staff at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center and medical staff at Hospital Kirchberg for their excellent care and kindness. Speaker Pelosi is enjoying the overwhelming outpouring of prayers and well wishes and is ever determined to ensure access to quality health care for all Americans," Krager added. The former speaker was taken by MEDEVAC to Landstuhl, Germany, a Defense official told NBC News, after Pelosi was injured Friday while on an official congressional trip to Luxembourg.

President-elect Donald Trump wants to turn the lights out on daylight saving time. [Snip]
“The Republican Party will use its best efforts to eliminate Daylight Saving Time, which has a small but strong constituency, but shouldn’t! Daylight Saving Time is inconvenient, and very costly to our Nation,” he wrote. [Snip] Some health groups, including the American Medical Association and American Academy of Sleep Medicine, have said that it’s time to do away with time switches and that sticking with standard time aligns better with the sun--and human biology.

I like Elton John. I’ve grown up on and loved his music, and I thought it was just great that he played at Rush Limbaugh’s wedding. Now, I like him even more for stating the truth about marijuana: It’s a dreadful drug. [Snip] Those struggles have made him doubt the wisdom of legal weed. “I maintain that it’s addictive. It leads to other drugs. And when you’re stoned--and I’ve been stoned--you don’t think normally,” he says. “Legalizing marijuana in America and Canada is one of the greatest mistakes of all time.”

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is recovering at a hospital in Luxembourg. [Snip] Ms. Pelosi tripped going down marble stairs at the Grand Ducal Palace and took a hard fall,... [Snip] People close to Ms. Pelosi in California and Washington, D.C., speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak for her, said the former speaker fractured her hip when she fell. They said doctors were confident the damage could be repaired with a routine operation, but it was not yet clear whether that would be done in Luxembourg or in the United States.

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi said she has appealed to Rome for a decision concerning San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone’s ban on her receiving the Holy Eucharist due to her public support for abortion. [Snip] A 2004 memo to the U.S. bishops from then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, later Pope Benedict XVI, states that “consistently campaigning and voting for permissive abortion and euthanasia laws” requires denial of Communion. [Snip] Pelosi has regularly displayed a lack of basic understanding about the concept of sin. For example, she called pro-life protections for innocent babies “sinful” and claimed that protecting unborn babies is “an assault” on women.

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) flaunted her disobedience to her bishop in an interview on her Catholicism, saying that she always feels “there’s an angel” on her shoulder despite her vehement support for abortion. [Snip] Pelosi...said that she ignored the mandate of her bishop,...to stop receiving communion over her pro-abortion advocacy. [Snip] “I received Communion anyway,”..., adding of Cordileone. “That’s his problem, not mine.” “My Catholic faith is, Christ is my savior,” she added. “It has nothing to do with the bishops.” Later in the interview, she told the publication, “My faith is always with me....”
Comments:
In 2020 she posted an image social media users were using as a virtue signal they supported the BLM movement; MAGA supporters do not support BLM because the BLM “movement advocates for the abolition of law enforcement and police officers.” In 2020 she posted an image of herself wearing a mask next to a sign: “Only you can stop the spread of ignorance.” The author points out that is a liberal view and conservatives/MAGA supporters opposed “the imposition of mask and vaccine mandates during the coronavirus outbreak.” Instinct strongly suggests legitimate concern about this relationship.
