The cluelessness of the liberal media and the Democrats has been something to see since the election.
They're still trying to figure it out and wrap their minds around how President-elect Donald Trump won.
One of the few people who gets it is CNN's Van Jones. As we reported, he explained how Trump got the rise of new media and made use of that, that the legacy mainstream media was the "fringe" and the "fringe" was now the mainstream.

While I fully agree with Jones evaluation of Trump's capabilities, and would add in that Trump is not only capable, he seems to be a REALLY nice guy, but the other side of the coin is important too.
Jones says "We look like idiots." and the real problem is, incompetence is endemic on the Left. We see it in Biden's administration. We see it in the Congress. We see it in the Media. We see it in woke companies. They think that if they SAY it, it is true because all the Bobbleheads start nodding in unison. Further, the public has been slow to challenge them because most of those speaking are part of respected organizations and the public has trouble believing that they would make stuff up or blatantly lie.
But the Left has been extremely careless for the last 16 years, since BO was elected. They were giddy with his success and decided the time was right for them to come "out of the closet" for hard Leftism. Slowly, the public trust of these institutions has been eroding. When Trump won the Presidency, the Left (and a good chunk of the establishment in the middle and Right) was aghast and publicly declared that the emergence and threat of Trump justified any actions they decided to take. Their extremis caused people to SEE the lies and the abandonment of their respect for organizations that they had trusted accelerated. Once the trust was gone, the obvious corruption and incompetence was obvious. Alternate media voices broke through legacy media smoke screens. Overall, once a process like this starts it is only a matter of time before it reaches a major tipping point. While Trump's election was a great victory, I suspect we have not quite reached that tipping point yet. The cost for the Left's actions of recent times is being reviewed and the bill is being tallied. When Trump is sworn in and starts doing things competently and other actors start responding there is going to be an utter collapse of the Left. It will probably be chaotic. Their masks will be ripped off and their plots exposed. The public will be horrified by what the Left actually is and has been doing.
Like Trump stating the obvious that he Legacy Media is "Fake News", much of the action will be the recognition that the Left actually are Idiots!

Van Jones does get one thing right. Trump is no idiot. But this is one of the most enduring self delusions of political zealots both left and right.
With the exception of Joe Biden/Harris ticket no POTUS in living memory was "Stupid". Anyone who makes it too that level is going to be smarter than the average bear. We lose a significant amount of credibility when we rant about how stupid our opponents are. The corrolary is that smart people do stupid things sometimes, but that is the exception.
Biden/Harris is the exception, they were selected Because they were not the sharpest tools in the drawer. They were chosen because they were easily manipulated, they were always meant to be puppets. You don't want smart puppets. Even here we must be careful though, while the puppets are laughable, the hidden people pulling their strings are not.
Know your opponent! If you assume they are stupid you will constantly be surprised when they out maneuver you. If you assume you're the only one playing chess at a checkers convention you are probably going to lose.

They thought Ronald Reagan was stupid, too. Let them continue underestimating Trump at their peril.

Pride goes before the fall.
Jones does not and will not ever befriend, socialize or even take seriously people who support Donald Trump. Jones is superior to us.
Jones was on a panel discussion about the election. KellyAnne Conway was a token republican. There were about 10 lefties comfortably seated behind this curved table. They talked about Rogan and Vaughn but they didn’t invite either of them to be a part of the discussion. Why not? Because they are better than we are. They are Jane Goodall and we’re just Gorillas in the mist.
Donald Trump is one of us. We know this, and they know it too. But they’re still too good for all of us. All we can hope to do is to continue to defeat them.

There was another article featuring Van Jones the other day where he goes on about there being 'Something wrong' in America that the 'political class' completely misses but most Americans see it. At times the guy is quite perceptive.

President Trump is well grounded. He didn't grow up in a bubble of wealth, and he doesn't live in one, now. Oh, he is wealthy, no question. But he made his fortune in real estate, and he kept in touch with the construction workers.working on his projects. That's why he gets America.

Van Jones is given to much credit for his epiphany ...he has worked tirelessly for 12 years to destroy America's free will...he doesn't deserve any kind words...or acknowledgement...he lost...big time and is trying to justify the loss by uttering a few words of support to WE the people....he's like ole Nancy...who can't get communion ...you must answer for your action...and take what comes to you...and it's NOT a dinner at Mar-a-Largo....

The "elite" don't realize that Trump is like Columbo.
They dismiss him as beneath their IQs right up to that moment when he says.
"Oh, one more thing."

Dems freak out at "How can Trump do this stuff when he's just stupid?" Simple: He's, by far, the 'smartest guy in the room'......any room he walks into. Dems can't see it. Jones sees it.
