New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim went out on drone patrol with local police on Thursday night and believes some lights in the sky he came across were possibly drones, but most others — after “deeper analysis” — appear to have just been planes.
Despite his findings, the Democrat, who was sworn in earlier this month, didn’t discount the possibility of drone activity in his state and called out the federal government for not offering answers to the civilians who’ve been reporting sightings for the past several weeks.

What is suspicious is that Kim reported seeing "red blinkers" in the sky. Aircraft use red/starboard, green-port with white strobes for lighting, but I'm not aware of any manned aircraft that display "red blinkers."

I thought they were errant "weather balloons"(at times flying figure-eight formations) flying over sensitive military sites.

If no one claims them, shoot them down! It's a matter of self-defence, because they could be carrying some type of chemical or the dreaded Wuhan virus. Even worse, the clot shot medicine!

Couldn't someone shoot a star shell above the things so we can identify them and see what we're dealing with?

A drone hunt? More like a snipe hunt.

If the Feds had done their own ‘deep analysis’ instead of leaving it up to a newly appointed politician it might be more believable. There is obviously a lot more air activity than normal and the only answer provided by the Biden Administration is ‘We don’t know’. What do they expect the reaction to be? It’s not like they have a history of truth telling.

I think we're testing our own defense systems to be sure they will do what they're supposed to if attacked by unknown drones/aircraft. The government won't disclose what's happening because that would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it? Maybe that's why there's similar action in the airspace around US bases in foreign countries as well.
When you think about it, how else would we test our defense capabilities?

If the feds don't claim them, anyone should be able to shoot them down.

#2~ As informational, according to a pilot with 2000+ hours as a pilot regarding “an object in the sky over northern New Jersey” this week that flew in a straight line low, slow and loud and headed directly for Newark Airport that had two red lights, a green light, and a white light, pilots love those lights because they are a great help when trying to avoid hitting other airplanes. “The FLASHING RED LIGHT in the center is the 360-degree beacon on the bottom of the fuselage. The STEADY RED LIGHT is on the left wingtip, and the green is on the right. The white light is on the tail, facing rearward. This light pattern, used by airplanes flying every night in the world, has its history in nautical navigation. Coast Guard regulations have mandated a green light to starboard, a red light to port, and a white stern light on most boats for more than 100 years. Some of the pictures captured by the panicking public also show two bright bulbs lighting what appears to be a large tube at the front of these feared flying machines. Those are the landing lights illuminating the forward half of the fuselage. Observers also claim these “huge drones” make a lot of noise. They are correct. Jet engines are thunderous.”
For anyone interested in a somewhat reassuring and interesting explanation of the drones:

People in NJ know the flight paths. They know what a plane in the night sky looks like. And what it doesnt look like. Day time air traffic is heavier than night. Why no drone sighting during the day?

Thank you, #12, but no rational thought is permitted by the hysterics at this point, it seems clear.

The truth isn't very exciting. No boogey men, no space men, just aircraft and maybe, perhaps a few drones run by individuals doing nothing much.
