Climate Doomers Shift Tactics to Local

Climate doomsayers appear to understand their alarmist message did not resonate on the national level during the 2024 election. “Climate change” ranked dead last among the most important issues of the 2024 cycle, according to Pew Research. Climate doomers are searching for a new way to impress their anti-capitalistic ideas on the American economy, the New York Times reported Tuesday. Their newest strategy is to focus on pressuring local organizations, state agencies, and state commissions to change rules and laws, thereby effecting change on the local level where conservationists may be unsuspecting.

The outcome of these efforts will be economic disaster for the people who adopt them. Further, as the Left loses its grip on national levers of power, more of the truth about the climate fraud is going to come out. The Left might get nickel and dime local projects but that doesn't accomplish much. And if they catch local people off guard, there is nothing to stop the local people from regrouping and dumping the project later. As the larger battle exposes their fraud, they will fade into the background. It's also possible that a focused resistance could start following these people around and countering their efforts. The only thing we need to make clear is, if you do something stupid locally, the federal government is NOT going to bail you out. Act stupidly, bear responsibility for your stupidity.

Frankly, even most of the lonely cat ladies have become less interested. Because they've priced cat food and that has superseded other 'cat'astrophes.

This is a great idea. On the national level the Climate doomsayers only have the kneepad media, Democrats, international media, Pope Vegan and a truckload of national and international organizations to spread their propaganda. On the local level, they will only have local media. And local media isn't the same as the Kneepad media. Oh, I'm sure it will be more like local school board and city council meetings. Look how well that has gone for Democrats and fascist lately. The Deep blue states have already done their duty work. All that's left is Red states and that should be a lot of fun to watch. Local politics is vastly different form the Deep State politics. Bet these echo chamber dingbats get a real education soon.

I think the revelation that Climate Change is pure nonsense also exists at the local level, unless you happen to live on the coast of California, Washington or Oregon.

Good luck with that in my little red city. People here are more interested in their jobs and caring for their families. A city council who tried some whacko "green" edicts here will get run out of town on a rail.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has proposed a one-time $300 payment to individuals earning $150,000 or less, and $500 to couples making $300,000 or less, her office announced Monday. In what would be the state’s first “Inflation Refund,” Hochul wants to send about 8.6 million New Yorkers a few hundred dollars starting in fall 2025 if approved by the legislature, an official press release stated. Around $3 billion in taxpayer funds would be allocated for the payments, which the governor called a “break” for her constituents. .“Because of inflation, New York has generated unprecedented revenues through the sales tax — now, we’re returning that cash back to middle class families,

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has released a press statement reacting to Daniel Penny's acquittal in the death of Jordan Neely. "As with every case, we followed the facts and the evidence found from the beginning to end," Bragg maintained. After being deadlocked all day Friday, jurors reached Penny's not-guilty verdict within an hour of deliberations Monday morning on the remaining criminally negligent homicide charge. The prosecution decided to drop the top second-degree manslaughter charge Friday afternoon in a Hail Mary effort to salvage the crumbling case.

Establishment Republican strategist Karl Rove attacked highly popular Vice President-elect JD Vance this week for his successful Senate bid in 2022, claiming he was a poor candidate. Rove’s odd and unprompted insult came in a comment to the New York Times in an article published Thursday about Steven Law stepping down as head of the Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)-aligned Senate Leadership Fund super PAC: “There was a candidate running in Ohio who was a terrible fund-raiser and was not a particularly effective candidate and the rest of the Republican ticket is winning by — from 18 to 24 points,” Mr. Rove said. “

Deflated by the resounding November defeat, the left now believes it can magically rebound by destroying President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet nominees. Many of Trump's picks are well outside the usual Washington, D.C./New York political, media, and corporate nexus. But that is precisely the point -- to insert reformers into a bloated, incompetent, and weaponized government who are not part of it. Trump's nominee for FBI director, Kash Patel, is already drawing severe criticism. His furious enemies cannot go after his resume since he has spent a lifetime in private, congressional, and executive billets, both in investigations and intelligence.

Jones – who took the helm in 2021 and became the first black woman to lead a major national news network – is mulling an exit from the job early next year, according to a report by Oliver Darcy in his Status newsletter. The move would only come after Trump is sworn in to serve a second term as president on Jan. 20, Darcy reported, citing anonymous sources.

"Moving at the speed of business" was one of the great corporate slogans of our lifetimes. In just six words, UPS declared that they didn't just move fast, they expected their customers to. From 1995 to 2002, it was a boast and a compliment about speed, agility, and affordability — at a time when business adaptation of the internet demanded more and more of all three. How much do you want to bet that loan ever gets paid back?

The Biden administration might be in its final days but that doesn’t mean the flow of lethal U.S. weaponry to Ukraine shows any sign of slowing. Far from it. That was confirmed Monday when an additional $725 million in military assistance, including counter-drone systems and munitions for its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), was announced by the White House. AP reports it is unclear whether the munitions for the HIMARS are the coveted ATACMS — the Army Tactical Missile System — but Ukraine has been pressing for more of the longer-range missiles to strike additional targets inside Russia.

We do not live in anything resembling the nation that was envisioned by our Founders, and for the first time in modern American history, we seem to have reached a consensus in recognizing that fact. This was just dramatically evidenced in a presidential election, in which a broad coalition of voters from the political left and right voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump, who promised to create a “government efficiency commission” to be headed by Elon Musk. How a “government efficiency commission” could become the emphatic demand of a populace that I watched vote for an unquestionable expansion of the federal government during the Obama years is a sobering thing.

Climate scientists recently discovered that they’ve been underestimating the impact of a particular organic compound in the atmosphere, and the oversight’s significance is so profound that it’s left existing climate models completely obsolete. As Jo Nova writes, “This is so big, it may change the sacred ‘climate sensitivity’ of the whole Earth”. Isoprene is what’s known as a volatile organic compound, or a VOC, and “has a recognized role in protecting plants against many abiotic stresses” like “heat stress…drought…[and] oxidative stress” with trees being the greatest emitters. (When the chemical isoprene interacts with other compounds in the atmosphere, the products are a number of secondary organic aerosols.)

But this does seem like a good occasion to reflect on what has changed over these past 25 years. What strikes me, looking back, is how optimistic many people, both here and in much of the Western world, were back then and the extent to which that optimism has been replaced by anger and resentment. And I’m not just talking about members of the working class who feel betrayed by elites;

Kentanji Brown Jackson may not know what a woman is, but she knows what it is to go to bed one night as just an ordinary Supreme Court justice and to wake up the next day as a Broadway star. Yup, she’s hitting the Great White Way (or, maybe, in her case, the Great Black Way) to fulfill a childhood dream: taking a turn in a Broadway musical. Interestingly, the particular musical she’s chosen, “& Juliet,” is a tawdry pro-transgender show. I think we can now guess how Jackson will vote on Tennessee’s “no ‘gender-affirming’ care on minors” law.
