President Biden, you vowed to add ratified
ERA to our Constitution. Time's up.

More than 165 international constitutions include gender equality, and ours should, too.
In January 2020, Virginia ratified the Equal Rights Amendment, becoming the final state needed to add about 170 million women and girls to our Constitution.
All constitutional requirements have been met, according to the American Bar Association.
And yet.
For the past four years, America has been in a constitutional crisis. In 2020, for the first time in our nation’s history, publication of a fully ratified amendment was stopped by the executive branch. Why is the ratified ERA still not added to the Constitution?

Because the ERA is dumb. I would love to see a list of rights that men have that women don't.
We make differentiation by age for good reasons on drinking, driving, etc, but not for men vs. women. If anything women are advantaged in many ways in our society vs men.

As far as I know the only right that men have and women don't have is the "right" to be drafted. All else is just a smokescreen.

Am not an authority on The Constitution. But thought there was a time limit. If it becomes a part of our Constitution, Dog the Bounty Hunter can become a Playboy Playmate.

He was probably planning it as an October surprise during the election. Then he got summarily booted from the race. It's not as important to him now.

Totally dishonest article. The ERA Amendment had an expiration date attached to it. Even after the initial date was extended, the date passed without it receiving the minimum amount of state ratifications, killing the amendment. Subsequent ratifications are moot, and the House Rats trying to remove the expiration date after the fact is just another example of the lengths they'll go to cheat to get their way.

The problem with the so-called ERA, one that Phyllis Schlafly had, was that any amendment with the overly broad and general verbiage leaves room for very aggressive case law. What cannot be deemed to be discriminatory on the basis of sex? The ERA was cooked up to provide cover for the outrageous jurisprudence of Roe v Wade - it's now moot and the ERA is dead because it is well pass it's expiration.

But what does it REALLY say? I don't see women and girls missing out on voting free speech, property ownership or anything else men have. So what ELSE is in this package?
If women compete physically and intellectually, meeting the same requirements and identified by genelogical information, I don't see a problem. But the devil is in the details.

women should not be allowed to vote. (in a Republic, ONLY property owners can vote. Both of these ideas make good sense. The government should be operated like a business, not like a family

Men and women have equal rights now. What we need is a law stating there are 2 genders. No more.

As a congressionally sponsored amendment, congress can and does apply a time limit to proposed amendments, and that has SCOTUS approval. This amendment, as all in the last century, has a time limit of 7 years. It appears that some state or states approved it outside the congressional time limit, therefore it was not fully ratified. Whether or not the ERA makes sense, whether or not its failure causes weeping, gnashing of teeth, or legal challenges…this process is over.

Time was up long ago. It needed 3/4 of the states to ratify it by March 22,1979, which it did not achieve, and there have been numerous rescindings and revocations. They tried to extend the deadline but it was overturned. The process would have to start over.

Please pass it. First to die for discrimination based on sex is Title IX. Imagine the legal morose when men file suits concerning alimony, custody and so much more. It will destroy the Dem party as it has based its entire party platform on blaming men and discrimination against men. Imagine all the Dem Karens losing their privilege. Vagina hats could be seeing as a hate crime. Please ratify this monster.

As someone pointed out the time limit for ratification by the states, including the extension, has passed. I may be misremembering, but did not at least one state rescind its ratification vote?
