Legally, not a crazy ruling by the Illinois Supreme Court, considering the plea agreement by the corrupt DA. I'm sure the good citizens of the Windy City feel more than taken advantage of for all the free publicity he received.

They must have severely twisted themselves in knots to get to this ruling.

I can't take issue with the ruling. That said, Jussie Smollett will forever be known as a hoaxer. He destroyed his reputation and in a sane world, will be flipping hamburgers once his 15 minutes are finally up.

Illinois is going full bore criminal. Guv Pritzker is welcoming every illegal alien in the world into the state and Mayor Brandon Johnson is complicit in sticking it to the citizens as much as possible by letting criminals roam free. Are they becoming the New California?

Please note...Trump, Gaetz and others have all faced current cases even after a nolle prosequi announcement. I at least a couple of Trump cases not only the "Will not Prosecute" judgement, but also the statute of limitations having been reached. His current 34 count NYC case was after DOJ, IRS, and NY State Prosecutors declined to prosecute, and made a public proclamation of such..AND the statute of limitations had run out, NONE of the charges alone was a felony, AND no individual had ever been prosecuted for such violations unless massive losses/damages had been inflicted upon others. As far as releasing him from Prison? Who cares...I'm more concerned that this will trigger a civil suit where he is gifted $MILLLION$ in "damages" compensation for the time he served.

While Smollett will claim that the Illinois Supreme Court has cleared him of any wrong doing and he is now a free person; that is far from the truth. The Illinois Supreme Court was silent on Jesse's guilt. What they ruled on was the validity of his plea agreement with crooked prosecutor Kim Fox and that it was valid. Since his plea agreement was ruled valid, his trial and conviction was invalid. Smollett ignores the fact that his plea included a fine (forfeiture of his bond money) and time served in jail. It did not proclaim him innocent. Smollett is still a race hustler who pulled a hateful stunt in order to further his career and deserves to be on the ash heep of history.

A promotion for the general who became famous for being the last U.S. soldier to leave Afghanistan is being delayed by a Republican senator, a Senate aide confirmed to Military.com on Friday. Lt. Gen. Christopher Donahue, who has been nominated to receive a fourth star and take command of U.S. Army forces in Europe, was noticeably absent from a batch of military promotions the Senate approved Thursday evening before leaving for its weeklong Thanksgiving break. The aide confirmed Donahue's promotion was left out because Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., placed what's known as a "hold" on the nomination.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California Gov. Gavin Newsom said he won’t make a clemency decision on the murder convictions of Erik and Lyle Menendez until newly elected Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman reviews the nearly 35-year-old case. In October, prosecutors submitted a recommendation for the brothers’ resentencing on the murder conviction in the 1989 killings of their parents in their Beverly Hills home. George Gascón, the current district attorney, asked a judge to impose a new sentence 50 years to life, which could make them eligible for parole immediately.

A Florida woman was found guilty of second-degree murder Friday after authorities said she zipped her boyfriend up in a suitcase and left him for dead back in 2020. Sarah Boone, now 47, told authorities her boyfriend got trapped in a suitcase and died during a game of hide-and-seek, court records show. The Florida couple had been drinking chardonnay and doing puzzles in their Winter Park apartment. They thought “it would be funny” to hop in a suitcase as a part of the game, according to an arrest affidavit from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Just days after the Supreme Court struck down the precedent of automatically deferring to bureaucrats, it is now ordering lower courts to reconsider some cases where federal agencies have interfered with the activities of Americans. On June 28, the Supreme Court overturned Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council, a case that set a precedent requiring courts to defer to reasonable agency interpretations of a given law when the language used in the law was ambiguous. Now, the Supreme Court has ordered lower courts to review Foster v. U.S. Department of Agriculture and KC Transport v. Secretary of Labor, two cases where judges limited the commercial activities of Americans

Florida prosecutors knew the late millionaire and financier Jeffrey Epstein sexually assaulted teenage girls two years before they cut a plea deal that has long been criticized as too lenient and a missed opportunity to imprison him a decade earlier, according to transcripts released Monday. The 2006 grand jury investigation was the first of many by law enforcement over the past two decades into Epstein’s rape and sex trafficking of teenagers — and how his ties to the rich and the powerful seem to have allowed him to avoid prison or a serious jail term for over a decade.

The left really is having a difficult time coping with Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 elections. Some celebrities have even "moved out" of the country. On Wednesday evening, we learned that comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia de Rossi have moved to rural England. It's not all that it seems, though, because they already owned the home in Great Britain. But they are selling their Montecito, Calif., estate. Not all celebs who claimed to be worried about a Trump dictatorship are leaving the country, though. Most are just leaving X/Twitter.

What does “resistance” look like? When Denver isn’t busing illegal aliens to New York and Chicago, its mayor is trying to act like enforcing American immigration law and deporting illegal aliens is Tiananmen Square all over again. The mayor also takes heart that the people of Denver — not just the administration — would likely resist a mass deportation effort from federal forces. “More than us having DPD stationed at the county line to keep them out, you would have 50,000 Denverites there,” Johnston said. “It’s like the Tiananmen Square moment with the rose and the gun, right?”

In his victory speech in 2008 — nearly a generation ago — Obama told the masses in Chicago: “It's been a long time coming. But tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.” Upon reflection, Obama’s changes were far from transformative. Oh, the deep state got deeper. And the insurance industry received subsidies that over the years likely top a trillion dollars by now. Obamacare also enabled him to enable the transgender fad that has poured millions into a few doctors and children’s hospitals while spaying and neutering thousands of innocent teens who were struggling with teenage hormonal imbalances.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) suggested in a recent interview that the DOJ staff is worried it will become a “law firm” for President-elect Trump during his second stint in the White House. His claim came shortly after Trump tapped former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to lead the DOJ following former Rep.
