Matt Gaetz withdrew his nomination as Donald Trump's attorney general amid a report alleging he had a threesome with one minor and one adult. Gaetz announced his shocking decision on social media. 'I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback - and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance,' he wrote on X.

Matt Gaetz quit his House position. He's not going away. There is an easier path through the district attorney appointment process that carries the same power but under the radar. The chess match begins.

CNN notifies that they are running a story...from illegally leaked Congressional ethics committee testimony documents... that the 17yo claimed there was a 2nd encounter at the same party, with another adult prostitute..., the adult gave testimony to the SAME committee saying it never happened.

I agree with #4. Every time our side caves, unwilling to go all the way, Deep State tactics win and are encouraged to do more of the same. This is tragic and I am buying none of the excuses. If Senate meetings went so well, then WHY did you pull out, Matt?

I think this whole nomination was an elaborate plan. First Gaetz was just reelected. Trump nominates Gaetz knowing heads would explode. There is nothing to the allegations but Gaetz resigns to avoid distractions. Rubio is appointed Sec State. DeSantis now has an appointment to make. Gaetz will be the next senator from Florida. Epic explosion of heads follows.

I can say it now. Gaetz is not a good person. He is a man of low character and he is full of himself. He may have the right idea about the need to cleanup the DOJ but he would have been more disruptive than it's worth.

I think Gaetz is an edgy person. That is, he is bold, pushes boundaries, and may even be somewhat reckless. When The Turtle and RINO Collins say they think he made the right move, you can be sure it was a Deep State pat on the back. Yes, it would have been a messy battle. So was the battle to get Kavanaugh confirmed for the SCOTUS and after he was approved, all the flimsy, fake accusations faded away. Would that happen with Gaetz? Probably, but Gaetz was right, a long battle is not what is needed, even if he eventually was confirmed.

Republicans are not allowed an AG. Democrats and Rino's will see to that. We have had Jeff Sessions, who recused, and never did the job, leaving a Democrat as acting AG. Then, we had Bill Barr, who promised to deliver next quarter on every Sunday talk show, but never did. Now, Gaetz is eliminated without even starting the confirmation process. Who will we get now? Some mediocre Congressman or Deep State nobody, who will protect the institution, code for not doing anything. The Republicans can be counted on to be mice and not men.

I would like to see Gaetz come in to the DOJ later in a position that doesn't require senate approval so that he can work with the Attorney General to purge the deep state from the FBI/DOJ. It's probably best that Gaetz withdrew since RINOs hate him and several GOP senators were already voicing their opposition in a thin GOP majority.

Clinton had sex in the Oval Office while on the phone with senators about sending American soldiers to war. They will concentrate on getting rid of Pete Hegseth now. They should not be engaged in the press where every denial can be used to embellish more and more outrageous lies. Let the press & accusers talk among themselves. Don’t give them anything to twist and feed their attacks. Interesting that it’s always accusations about sexual activity that supposedly happened years ago. Wait and confront the accusations under oath at the confirmation hearing. Maybe there is strategy behind putting these people out there this soon. I know for certain that some of them are going to be viciously and relentlessly attacked publicly, as we have seen. I just think it’s better to stand your ground, & hold yourself above it as well as you can until it can be dealt with at a proper time and place. Let others report the facts. Kudos and thank you’s to those who have done that. I agree that the meetings Matt Gaetz had with Republicans probably indicated to him that he didn’t have enough support to make sticking with it worth what he and his family were going through. That is what sickens me most about some of the Republicans in power. I always wonder if the reason why some of them aren’t openly attacked themselves is because they acquiesce privately when threatened. But, maybe they are actually the same as their Democrat colleagues, after all. Some of them obviously are. It seems they always end up doing more for Dems than for US in the long run. That’s why it’s imperative that We unite and stand strong together. I pray for our reliance on God’s guidance and protection throughout this effort to MAGA. We cannot do it without Him.

In 2008, then-Senator John McCain made the interesting choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate in the presidential election. It was an interesting choice, but the problem for John McCain was that the charismatic and attractive Sarah Palin quickly overshadowed him on the campaign trail. Like a lot of people at that time, curious about the Alaska Governor, I decided to go to the source and bought a copy of her book "Going Rogue." It was an interesting read. Mike Rogers recently lost his senate race in Michigan following a late night ballot dump that gave the race to unpopular Democrat Elissa Slotkin in Michigan. Rogers did not question the results and congratulated Slotkin in her win in a state that went for President Trump by nearly 80,000 votes. Maybe Rogers did not complain about his loss since he was very vocal trashing President Trump in 2020 for contesting the highly controversial and improbable results of the 2020 election.
