Before marrying in 2021, former Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., was known to be a braggadocious libertine. No conservative wants to defend such behavior, and so many on the Right are remaining silent as Gaetz is accused of also engaging in criminal conduct, paying prostitutes, and having sex with a minor. The claims against Gaetz are but another information operation, however, mirroring the ones that previously targeted Donald Trump and Brett Kavanaugh. And this pattern will continue unabated unless Americans unflinchingly condemn the tactic — no matter the target.

Reminder: “WE ARE A SALON AND NOT A SALOON”
Your thoughts, comments, and ideas are always welcome here. But we ask you to please be mindful and respectful. Threatening or crude language doesn't persuade anybody and makes the conversation less enjoyable for fellow L.Dotters.
Apologise for the lack of breaks ; in the headline; I tried several times to correct, but to no avail for some reason, then gave up and deleted the post. But it made it anyway.
It seems there is plenty of evidence that the allegations against Gaetz are unfounded. Republicans need to show a spine and speak up.

What more can we do when we already don't watch CNN/MSNBC, PBS, network news or subscribe to most newspapers? Trump had the Congress 8 years ago but wasted much of his Presidency when his own GOP party believed the Russia collusion filth. Are we going to have to treat the MSM as we treated King George long ago?

I don't agree with the author's "libertine" and "playboy" adjectives. She has no knowledge of Gaetz's youth, and neither do I. I have only seen Gaetz in Congress, and he is outstanding, and would be an outstanding AG.

If we want to be free let's go with Matt Gaetz.

Hmmm wouldn’t it be nice if they had vetted the Biden regime the same way???

As a member of Gaetz's community since 1987 I have never heard a word about any "libertine" behavior. He was in high school with my daughter and she should knew.

I agree. This is bogus.

Agree that the nominee needs to be supported if nothing but to ensure these types of attacks get push back.
It's not 2016 where many of the GOP establishment felt the FBI wouldn't be investigating Trump if there wasn't likely something there.
Most now realized it was all bull Schiff and pushed by people who knew it was all bogus including a certain bug eyed incoming CA Senator who claimed he has proof (even though the FBI has already knew it was bogus and has admitted as much).
When they expose them it will open the eyes of many who thought they hated Trump simply because they believed what they were being told.
You won't get the diehard Democrats but the rest will start to see they were lied to and intentionally provided mis and dis information that's now manifesting in many.
Need to help that 5-10% so they can healing from the emotional and mental health concerns.

Poster #8 is correct - this whole Gaetz scenario is bogus. You should watch the most recent Tucker Carlson podcast with Glenn Greenwald to get the true scope of the Deep State® and their machinations to subvert PDT and his cabinet choices. The IC is pulling out all the stops to prevent POTUS 47 from bringing peace to Eastern Europe and the Middle East, let alone Making America Great Again.
My fear is that they will make another attempt to assassinate him as a last-ditch effort (especially if he follows through on his promise to declassify the JFK files and other secrets).

The Dems hire women to invent stories slurring Republicans. It started with Anita Hill against Clarence Thomas. She was/is a total liar. And then we have Christine Nutcase Ford, with her fake claims against Kavanaugh. She couldn't even tell us what YEAR these alleged events occurred in. Pure lies.
They are doing it again, and it is PURE LIES again. Fake, fraud. Whores willing to claim any event are easy to find.
And the Duke lacrosse team comes to mind, too...although not a political nomination, same tricks. In that case the persecutor was disbarred and I think spent time in jail. Naifong...a liar, and the accuser was a literal whore, later arrested for murdering a "boyfriend".
Dems are such slime.

The basis for approving or disapproving the appointment should be about capabilities for the work. Allegations that have never been proven certainly would be irrelevant. His 2 years of experience as a lawyer and the rest of his career being a politician should be addressed.

I have a feeling if any Republicans try to hold up these approvals, hell will reign down on them the likes they've never seen. I'm looking forward to it and I'm not worried that Trump will get every cabinet member through the process in record time. Things have changed.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has the right approach to this. Lets expose all the skeletons in the House and Senate. All those payoffs, with our money, to cover up the nefarious adventures of our paid Reps and Senators.

A thousand likes for #14. Last I heard, amount spent on behalf of sexual aggressors in our Senate and House was $22 million.

The Dems loved Gaetz when he was making waves in the House over who the Republican Speaker would be.
Now that he is up for AG, they hate him.
The only way to stop the politics of personal destruction (thank you Clintons) is to fight fire with fire. There is plenty of Dem dirt to be exposed on social media. MAD.

fun times. The people who had no problem with Bootyjudge (not bothering to learn to spell that) and Rachel Levine are after Gaetz?
Don't give in. Don't apologize. Fight. Win. Draw the line HERE.

Yes,#14 and15, that Capitol Hill ‘slush fund’ was just started after I worked for a major Senate Judiciary Subcommittee. One day walking to the Capitol Subway from my office, a senator tried pulling my arm into his back door office.
Thankfully, my MIT-engineer Dad taught brother and me to be strong and work hard, milking our 80+ Guernsey girls every day at 4am and 4pm, so I was able to pull away. Fight, Fight, Fight back then!
Prayers for the beautiful Trump Family,
for Your Glory, Lord.
