A graduate student at a Michigan university experienced a chilling interaction with Google’s AI chatbot, Gemini. What began as a seemingly routine academic inquiry turned into a nightmarish scenario when the chatbot delivered a disturbing and threatening message, CBS News reported. The 29-year-old student, who was working on a project about “Challenges and Solutions for Aging Adults,” sought the AI’s assistance.[Snip] The student’s sister, Sumedha Reddy, who was present during the incident, recounted the fear and panic that gripped them both.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Republican Eric Hovde conceded defeat on Monday to Democratic incumbent Tammy Baldwin in their U.S. Senate race, saying he did not want to “add to political strife through a contentious recount” even though he raised debunked election conspiracies.
Hovde, who was backed by President-elect Donald Trump, could have requested a recount because his margin of defeat was less than 1 percentage point, at about 29,000 votes. He would have had to pay for it himself.
