Boeing dismantles DEI department — joining
major companies in scrapping controversial policy

Boeing reportedly dismantled its global diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) department as part of an overhaul of its operations ordered by the company’s new top executive — becoming the latest major company to ditch the controversial initiative. The aerospace giant — which was slammed by tech mogul Elon Musk for prioritizing DEI over safety and quality controls after a near-catastrophic blowout during an Alaska Airlines flight — said staff from its DEI office would be absorbed into another human resources team focused on talent and employee experience, according to Bloomberg News.

At my Alma Mater there is both a Vice President and a Vice Provost for Diversity. Each year a form had to be filled out by my supervisor that asked what I had done in the past year to "foster diversity." I used to joke with my supervisor that I was all for diversity because most of the people I worked with were idiots.

Would love to hear from those companies why they fell for it in the first place. If a common schmo like me can figure it out, certainly those college educated executives can. Yet they did it anyway. It cost massive money and maybe lives, and delivered, what?

This is very good news and high time for DEI to be buried deep in the ideology graveyard. But I think Boeing has other things going on that they don't want to see exposed. What about those two whistle-blowers at Boeing who met highly suspicious untimely deaths a few months ago? There may be more unsavory things going on with that company than just DEI.

All the big companies started doing the DEI dance because it was trendy and woke at the time you hire people because of merit and ability to do the job. I am sure that there are gays and minorities that will be excellent employees but hire them on merit. The fashion industry has lots of gays because they are good at it.Don't hire them just to check a box so you can brag about diversity. That way lies trouble for the company. Not only do they turn out incompetent and hurt the bottom line but it leaves you open to discrimination lawsuits if you have to fire them or fail to promote them.

I think it is important that teachers in our public school system - especially in elementary schools - be hired and promoted on merit, and they should be fired if their students are not performing at grade level. When you read that students in high schools are not reading, writing, or doing math at grade level, you've got to figure out that their teachers are incompetent and should be fired. Perhaps it was the teachers' unions that started the whole DEI fiasco. I believe that the "E" in DEI refers to Equity, that is, same outcome for all - never happens, because we all have different abilities and different skills.

One of the United States’ foremost white supremacists is urging his followers to support Vice President Harris in the presidential election next week. Richard Spencer, an avowed racist, antisemite and admirer of Nazism who coined the term “alt-right” and was a featured speaker when he took part in the deadly 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Va., called Harris the “best manager of the American empire.” Spencer — who also gained international recognition after yelling “Hail Trump! Hail our people!” and being greeted with Nazi salutes during a white nationalist event in November 2016 — also condemned former President Trump’s strong support of Israel.
