Washington Post Declines to Endorse in
Presidential Race, Leaving Staffers ‘Shocked’

For the first time in 36 years the Washington Post will not be endorsing a candidate for president, the paper’s publisher announced on Friday in a move that shocked and angered some current and former staffers who have been critical of former president Donald Trump. Publisher William Lewis announced the decision in an opinion piece on the organization’s website. Lewis said the Post is “returning to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates,” repeatedly noting that the Post is an “independent newspaper.” In his piece, Lewis quoted the paper’s editorial board in 1960, when it similarly explained that the paper wouldn’t be endorsing a presidential candidate.

Would never expect them to endorse Trump but not FKH after all their butt kissing? Surprising. But I assume that even they have no faith in a woman wearing a pantsuit who cannot answer any question. Including a question that would be yes or no. So they will just say that they have decided to drop that practice to CYA. I will say that I never look to a newspaper to tell me who to vote for. Or hollywood, or sport stars, or actually anyone. Let's tell the Hildabeast on election day what we really think of her too. Deplorables to the end.

First, the LA Times. Now, the Washington Post. Why are hardcore lefties backing away from Kamala Harris? The owner of the Post claims they are going back to their 60s policy of remaining neutral. Really??? Why now? What's the deal? Are they expecting the Harris campaign to do something so objectionable they want to stay clear of them?

I don't understand why ANY newspaper would or should endorse any candidate for any office. They are SUPPOSED to be neutral investigators and reporters of news events. Not shills for politicians. They are SUPPOSED to be challenging the politicians on our behalf not pushing us to vote for a particular candidate. For whatever reason several major newspapers have decided not to officially endorse either candidate this year. I don't care why but it's a good thing.

Give the man some credit. He could have stayed on his yacht and just ignored the whiners in the Post newsroom who are still unhappy about his decision not to allow the paper to run a Kamala Harris endorsement. Instead, he took the bull by the horns and his employees know they are living in a dream world, one in which people trust the pronouncements of journalists. We must be accurate, and we must be believed to be accurate. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but we are failing on the second requirement. Most people believe the media is biased. It's not many Democrats saying it out loud, but at least a few are standing up to the bullies in their party who are demonizing Republicans as literal Nazis. The level of rhetoric is off the charts, coming from the party that claims to want to unify the country. Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin are walking the earth again, spewing hatred and plotting to murder people, ban interracial marriage, and build concentration camps. Many Democrats and media figures think this is perfectly normal because, well, Donald Trump criticizes murderers, rapists, and Venezuelan gangs. He makes policy proposals that vast majorities of the American people approve of, like deporting

After the Amazon multi-billionaire ordered the Post to pull its endorsement of Kamala Harris, staffers and editors erupted in outrage, while readers canceled subscriptions. Several staffers announced their intent to resign in protest over the paper's refusal to take an official stand against Donald Trump. Having those staffers out of the way may help Bezos' reported overall strategy to restore ideological balance to his newspaper. The New York Times buried that in their report on Friday evening that Bezos intends to broaden interest
