WNBA will lose $40 million this season
and its NBA investors are growing impatient

Original Article

While the WNBA is getting sellout crowds for the finals between the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx, the league’s owners will not be making a return on their investment for the foreseeable future, sources close to the situation said. The NBA owns nearly 60 percent of the league. When one combines the NBA owners’ personal stakes in WNBA teams and the WNBA itself, the amount rises to 75 percent, a source with direct knowledge of the numbers said.

Comments:

The WNBA championship team would lose to an average boys high school team. Who wants to pay good money to see that level of competition?

The WNBA executives and coaches have some of the stupidest people in sports. And the most inconsistent cowardly referees. There may be a small room full of young girls who want to grow up to be Britney Griner or Diana Taurasi. Families are not going to spend their money to promote lesbians to their young daughters. Once the WNBA got some young hetero stars like Kaitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Lexie Hull, Cameron Brinks, their numbers picked up dramatically. Little girls are wearing their jerseys. The guys at the NBA should hire retired players like Lisa Leslie and put them in leadership posts over at the WNBA and hire some refs that will put a halt to the physical assaults on the straight players. Reese and Brinks both went out with injuries. Clark survived the entire season, but suffered hearing loss due to an injury. NBA owners should have enough business sense to not permit the WNBA to use their Kias, Fords, and Chryslers to bang up their Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Bugatti.

Have the NBA owners asked Joe and Kamala for a bailout? It is tearful to hear the NBA money grubbers are losing money on 1% of their business, while making billions everywhere else, no stone unturned to make money.

People pay to see the BEST in the WORLD compete at sports. Women are not the best players in the world at basketball. Why not have a men's 5'10" and under league? Why? Because nobody wants to see anything but the best in the world, regardless of gender. Same with the Paralympics. I have no problem with the Paralympics or Special Olympics, but entire cities do not build 5-6 sports venues every 2 years to host anything BUT the best in the world, the Olympics (not that I care any longer after this last woke slap in the face). BTW, Lucianne - STOP WITH THE AUTO PLAYING VIDEOS DAMMIT.

It should never been set up like the NBA - a solely domestic league. It should have been a North American. Central American and Euro league. There has to be a selling point beyond promoting lgbtqetal issues and lifestyles.

All professional sports are nothing more than entertainment, and I don't find basketball to be entertaining. They can all take a long walk off a short pier, as far as I am concerned. If they can get other people to pay to watch and be entertained, good for them. Just don't demand that MY TAX MONEY be used to support them!

Clark is really good. Playmaker and great shooter, but the racists on the court and in charge would rather trash their own league than share the spotlight or any light with Clark. She will have a great time in Europe and make a lot of money. Her rebroadcast European games would beat any WNBA game. Maybe someone will figure that out and build a new league without the racism.

And the players had the idiotic audacity to wear "Pay Us What You Owe Us" shirts for the 2025 all-star game. If it was based on what's owed, they would be paying team owners, until they start turning a profit. Word is that the networks run WNBA games only because the NBA made that a condition of THEIR network contracts.

The leftists who oppose discrimination against minorities, but favor “reverse discrimination” against other Americans to promote workplace “equity,” are about to lose a legal leg to stand on. The Supreme Court seems poised, in deciding Ames v. Ohio in the next few weeks, to decapitate the legal viability of reverse discrimination against heterosexuals — and give a strong boost to racial reverse-discrimination claims as well. Marlean Ames alleged that she suffered employment discrimination as a heterosexual in an Ohio state agency that favored LGBTQ employees.

Over the years, numerous studies, speeches and books have focused on a phenomenon known as self-sabotage. The subjects are highly successful people who throw it all away by behaving recklessly when they get to the top of the heap. Think Bill Clinton with Monica Lewinsky. Overconfidence, boredom and a notorious quest for power are among the reasons commonly identified as explanations for the destructive cycle.

But an investigation showed that his wife had been throttled, with her death ruled a homicide, prosecutors told KCRA.

Biden, 82, and wife Jill sat down with newly elected Democratic National Committee chairman Ken Martin last month to pitch themselves for a revamped campaigning effort, according to NBC News. Recent public polling shows Democrats’ support has cratered, with less than one-third of Americans approving of the party’s performance since President Trump returned to the White House Jan. 20.

Don’t wait until the eleventh hour! Daylight saving time starts at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, for most of the US, meaning that we spring forward and lose an hour to make better use of daylight and save energy. DST — which lasts until Sunday, Nov. 2 — is controversial in part because research indicates it can significantly upend our sleep-wake cycle, potentially increasing the risk of heart attacks and stroke. The good news is that we can take time this week to minimize the impact on our schedule and body.

Barack Obama has broken his silence on calls from Donald Trump for him to be prosecuted by unequivocally rejecting his successor’s accusations that he tried to engineer a “coup” following Trump’s 2016 election victory by “manufacturing” evidence of Russian interference. Obama’s office took the unusual step of issuing an emphatic refutation after Trump told reporters that his predecessor had “[tried] to lead a coup” against him and was guilty of “treason” over intelligence assessments suggesting that Russia had intervened to help Trump defeat Hillary Clinton in the campaign. “Out of respect for the office of the presidency,

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released further evidence Wednesday morning, which she claims shows the Obama administration's direct involvement in the 2016 post-presidential election Russia hoax. Gabbard, describing the plot as the "most egregious weaponization and politicization of intelligence in American history," posted a series of lies which have, in her view, been debunked by declassifying a 2020 House Intelligence Committee report. The report was an assessment of how the Obama administration manufactured a January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment, which portrayed Russia as having influenced the 2016 election in favor of Donald Trump. That assessment was "false," Gabbard writes,
