For 17 consecutive nights, a squadron of mysterious drones breached the airspace over Langley Air Force Base, home to some of America’s most advanced military assets.
Despite the base’s state-of-the-art defenses, military personnel were left perplexed and concerned, watching each night as the drones crossed Virginia’s restricted airspace without deterrent.

General Cyrus Milley had a secret deal with the Chinese that they would tell him what they were up to, in exchange for disloyalty to President Trump. Now he wonders, "what gives?" as he fingers his scrambled eggs. Perhaps another medal will assuage his conscience .....

Our military has become dangerously complacent and inept. It has quietly gone along with the massive infiltration of our borders by unknown numbers of enemy combatants. It's absurd that they are tolerating this invasion. There could be highly trained teams and sophisticated weapons being set up around our most strategic military and industrial installations. There could easily be a massive first-strike against us that takes out the majority of our military assets in the country that would make Pearl Harbor look like a picnic by comparison.
Why is everyone snoozing on this massive threat?!

why can't they shoot them down?

This makes no sense. 100mph? That is like Cessna 140 speed. Hardly something that could evade a helicopter. And same time every night, multiples? They don't put aircraft in the air to chase the "drones" and see where they are coming from or where they are going? I ain't buying it.

I see many comments calling to "just shoot them down". The military is very picky about shooting live rounds on US soil. I imagine that the servicemen seeing these drones have specific orders not to take action under threat of military legal action, court marshal or article 15. Couple that with the possibility that many of our military leaders and congressional/senate personnel are in the pocket of the Chinese and this is what you get.

Deterrent? Where's Austin and thoroughly modern Milley? They allowed the drones to patrol unmolested over Langley? First the spy balloons, now the spy drones. What part of protecting America is foreign to those in DC? America is fubared.

Official Biden-Harris military policy is that enemy missiles with nuclear warheads must not by shot down - - unless they endanger bitter divorced women - - minority "communities" - - or the "transgender" movement.
Anything else - - especially people wearing MAGA hats - - is fair game.

Why assume that these are "enemy" drones?
I believe it more likely that they are our own drones being tested by the military and/or the CIA, and are classified, so the military and media has to pretend that they are otherwise.

I guess the ability to shoot down or disable drones in flight never crossed the security team's desk. It's in the U.S., so spying by drone isn't a threat?

It's also possible that it's the US Military testing new equipment or previously unknown old equipment. The new stuff is usually 10-15 years ahead of everything known to the general public.

Our enemies, most likely China, are trying to get as much spying done under the feckless Biden administration before a potential Trump reelection shuts them down.
