Even though states across the southeastern U.S. are still reeling from Hurricane Helene's destructive path, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas warned that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) "does not have the funds" to get through hurricane season. On "Fox & Friends First" on Thursday, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody shredded the secretary over the comments, pointing out the more than $1 billion spent on migrants. ASHLEY MOODY: Everyone should be waking up this morning outraged by that comment. This is not something that has just happened recently. And Florida's been warning about this since this administration took over. Mayorkas has come in like a virus and

We've been outraged at the actions of this (mal)administration for a long time now; surpassed by our frustration at the unwillingness of "the people's representatives" to do a thing to correct it.

If Republicans had not voted against the impeachment of this POS he would have been long out of that office. But no, there are always Republicans who cannot bring themselves to vote with the rest of their fellow Republicans.

The money was ILLEGALLY stolen from FEMA and is a FELONY violation of the ADA. The Anti-Deficiency Act (ADA) is a federal law that prohibits government agencies from obligating funds unless both the amount and purpose of such spending have been approved by Congress in the form of enacted law.

What they did was misappropriation of funds and Biden and his administration should be charged and go to trial for this. This is not acceptable.

Walz says he ‘speaks like everybody

Tim Walz has a problem misspeaking. Since being tapped as Kamala Harris’ running mate, the folksy, plain-speaking Minnesota governor has had to explain a growing number of inaccurate statements — and at times embellishments — about his past. They range from comments about his military service to his visit to Hong Kong more than three decades ago to clarifying that his family didn’t specifically use in vitro fertilization. It’s unclear whether Walz’s verbal errors will undercut his credibility with voters. But the need to continually clean up those claims could politically hurt Walz and Harris, who are locked in a tight race with Donald Trump and JD Vance.

Former National Institutes of Health employee Margaret Moore, accused by Republicans of helping others shield emails from the public, invoked her Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination at a deposition before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Friday. Moore, a former FOIA public liaison for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), also declined to answer questions from Fox News in the hallway before the committee meeting. The committee on Monday issued a subpoena for Moore to appear. "Instead of using NIH’s FOIA office to provide the transparency and accountability that the American people deserve, it appears that ‘FOIA Lady’ Margaret Moore assisted efforts to evade

Democrats are warning Vice President Kamala Harris that she needs to ramp up her engagement with voters and the media or it could cost her the election. Harris is neck-and-neck with former President Trump in the 2024 race, according to national polls. While Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, have stepped up their interviews in recent weeks, she has also faced criticism from media critics for being evasive, even in interviews with friendly liberal outlets like MSNBC. "Ms. Harris responded to the fairly basic and predictable questions with roundabout responses that did not provide a substantive answer," The New York Times reported

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas' words have come back to haunt him as video from earlier this year touting the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA’s) preparedness before Hurricane Helene exposed shortcomings in the organization. Mayorkas this week warned that FEMA was running out of funds as hurricane season continued to slam the southeastern United States. The organization has enough funds to deal with the aftermath of Helene but would not have enough to "make it through the season." This warning stands in stark contrast to previous comments Mayorkas made in the summer assuring that FEMA would be able to handle upcoming weather crises.

Musk wrote on X late Thursday in response to an image Trump shared promoting the upcoming event.

When Joe Biden became president, the Middle East was calm. Now it is in the midst of a multifront war. So quiet was the inheritance from the prior Trump administration that nearly three years later, on September 29, 2023 -- and just eight days before the October 7 Hamas massacre of Israelis -- Biden's national security advisor Jack Sullivan could still brag that "The Middle East region is quieter today than it has been in two decades." So, what exactly happened to the inherited calm that led to the current nonstop chaos of the present?

The devastation Hurricane Helene has wrought on much of Appalachia—and Western North Carolina in particular—presents an unfortunate occasion to examine what the U.S. military is doing to secure the American way of life. Unfortunately, the military’s dismal response so far shows that they are unwilling to provide for the American people at a time of dire need. Days after Hurricane Helene, the Biden-Harris Administration finally activated up to 1,000 soldiers to support the delivery of food, water, and medicine to isolated communities. But these efforts are too little, too late.

If Donald Trump wins this election, the postmortems on Kamala Harris’ campaign should put her choice of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate at the top of her list of mistakes. Much of America got to know Walz for the first time during Tuesday’s vice-presidential debate. Unlike his appearance at the Democratic National Convention, the Walz we saw on the debate stage didn’t have his words written for him in a teleprompter. And the unfiltered version underscored a very obvious fact about the governor: He is patently fake. For starters, how about this “Coach Walz” nonsense, which he broached yet again on Tuesday. Former President Donald Trump wasted his debate last month with Vice President Kamala Harris. That was Trump’s opportunity to call out her numerous (and significant) flip-flops in front of a national audience – and more important to tie Harris to the failed economic and immigration policies of the current administration. The only scheduled vice presidential debate Tuesday between GOP Ohio Sen. JD Vance and Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was likely the last chance the two sides will have before the Nov. 5 election to make their case on this type of widely viewed platform, because Trump has said that he won’t meet Harris for another debate.

Those who love our country’s principles of justice — equality of rights, equality under the law, merit and responsibility — must not be taken in when old and precious words are given radically new and pernicious meanings. Such manipulation of language is a hallmark of ideological despotism that aims at the destruction of the capacity of citizens to speak and reason together about the “advantageous and the just,” as Aristotle put it so well more than two millennia ago at the beginning of his Politics. The U.S. economy added far more jobs than expected in September, pointing to a vital employment picture as the unemployment rate edged lower, the Labor Department reported Friday. Nonfarm payrolls surged by 254,000 for the month, up from a revised 159,000 in August and better than the 150,000 Dow Jones consensus forecast. The unemployment rate fell to 4.1%, down 0.1 percentage point. With upward revisions from previous months, the report eases concerns about the state of the labor market and likely locks in the Federal Reserve to a more gradual pace of interest rate reductions.

My only conversation with Pete Rose came in the early 1980s, when he was with the Phillies. And he started it. Some NBC public relations fellows were driving down to Philly for the game and asked if I’d like to join them. With our red media field-access credentials dangling from our belts, we watched batting practice from behind the cage. The dockworkers' union has agreed to return to work after the White House intervened and strong-armed the U.S. Maritime Alliance, representing shipping companies, to give the union what they wanted regarding wages. The dockworkers will return to work immediately under the old contract and the two sides will have until January 15 to hammer out the outstanding issues. Why Biden didn't intervene to prevent the strike is clear. He wanted the International Longshoreman Union (ILA) to demonstrate its muscle and willingness to shut down the U.S. economy to get what it wanted.
