Gas powered stoves in California could now come with a health warning label similar to what you'd find on a pack of cigarettes or other tobacco products, according to a new proposed law in the state. California lawmakers passed a bill at the end of August that would make it illegal to sell a gas stove that is manufactured or sold online on or after Jan. 1, 2025, or sold in a store, "unless the gas stove bears an adhesive label attached in a conspicuous location," according to the text of the bill. Gov. Gavin Newsom has until the end of September to sign the bill into law.

What in the world is going on in California? They have to be sitting up at night trying to come up with the dumbest laws to pass.

We have California the thank for all the useless Proposition 65 signs and notices we see and pay for. This is more of the same waste.

I read an article years ago that stated ladder manufactures were out of room to affix all the required warning labels. Must be some inside graft in the label making industry that pushes this. I believe mandating car seats (look at the age/weight rules and you'll shake your head) was a lobbyist coup. Companies like Graco rejoiced.

I don't know what it is with gas stoves that they are trying to cure, but I am sure that this will take care of any problems they have.. (Is there something in the Kalifornia air that is causing this brain destruction?

Can we have a similar warning on CA politicians? Across the forehead would be noticeable.

Just another government imposed cost, borne by manufacturers, that gets passed along to consumers in the form of a higher price tag.

Pretty much everything you buy has a label on it about being known by the state of California to cause "reproductive harm" or some such foolishness. There are so many they arent even noticed anymore. They are ignored, much like the silly Surgeon General's cigarette warning. Besides, I dont even live in California so their warning doesn't apply to me.

Democrats in the California state legislature who wring their hands about gas stoves also enable the death, injuries and financial loss caused by uninsured English language illiterates on the roads and criminal gang activity. When democrats don’t do serious harm to society they are notably irrelevant.

I have a new name for this Governor, Governor Nerosome. As he fiddles away putting stickers on stoves and pandering for the illegal vote, constituents are homeless jobless in the streets living in their cars and now being chased by the police as they try to find places to sleep. The funded “shelters” are drug infested looney bins wise people will not enter. Bravo, Nerosome, fiddle on, lazy voters will still elect you.

So, People of California are so stupid that they need a warning label on stoves reminding them that natural gas can be dangerous. Yep. Everything that’s bad for America starts in California.

Long ago I lived on the high desert in CA. Every year it seemed that there would be tragic deaths due to the ignorant using barbecues for indoor heating and sealing their windows against the cold winds with tape. What would this fool legislature have put the warning stickers on? There are even suffocation labels on the tiniest plastic bags these days.

I think I have had enough of the government of Ca. To those officials, why don't you go ahead and outlaw everything, and get it over with. It is getting tiresome, death by a thousand cuts.

There should be a similar warning at the bottom of every Democrat campaign poster about the terminal health risks of exposure to government. The enviro-commies are in the process of STRANGLING liberty and prosperity.

But still not requiring large warning labels on EVs? They probably can't because of the CA push to end ICE vehicles.

That same warning label should be taped to the forehead of Gavin Newsom.
