Washington— In the first court hearing in nearly a year, a lawyer for Donald Trump clashed on Thursday with the judge in the federal election interference prosecution of the former president after suggesting the government was rushing forward with an “illegitimate” indictment at the height of the White House campaign.
Prosecutors and defense lawyers are bitterly at odds over the next steps in the case after the Supreme Court narrowed the scope of the prosecution by ruling that former presidents are entitled to broad immunity from criminal charges. The dueling proposals and testy courtroom exchanges reflected the extent to which the justices’ July opinion had upended the path of the case

Las Vegas, Nevada — The annual leadership meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition kicked off Wednesday amid speculation that more Jews could vote for former President Donald Trump over concerns about Israel and antisemitism.
The gathering, which typically draws hundreds of donors and activists, as well as politicians and candidates, is being held in September this year, rather than in the winter, to have the biggest possible impact at the start of the fall campaign season.American Jews vote overwhelmingly for the Democratic Party, and align themselves with the political left. Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Wednesday about Vice President Kamala Harris changing several of her policy positions.
Harris said her “values have not changed” during a Thursday interview with CNN despite changing several of her policy positions from the time she served in the U.S. Senate and entered the 2020 presidential race. The press secretary touted Harris’ said accomplishments throughout the past three-and-half years of her vice presidency, crediting her efforts toward the economy and the border crisis.

Wisconsin’s elections regulator is being accused of allowing thousands of non-citizens to vote in the state’s election after it failed to verify the citizenship of its registered voters.
A recent lawsuit filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court by Pewaukee resident and election integrity activist Ardis Cerny alleges that the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) and the state’s Department of Transportation (DOT) failed to interject with the thousands of “registrants unlawfully included on” its voter rolls. Cerny claims the state did not verify the citizenship of those who registered to vote, resulting in illegal immigrants taking part in the nation’s elections.

The 14-year-old student who opened fire on classmates in a horror mass shooting at Apalachee High School was on the radar of the FBI a year before the tragedy, it has emerged.
The federal agency said it interviewed accused gunman Colt Gray, 14, and his father last year following 'several anonymous tips about online threats to commit a school shooting at an unidentified location and time.'
Officials said Gray 'denied making the threats online' at the time, and the only action taken was to warn local schools to 'continually monitor' the troubled teen.

Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) criticized former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) after she endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, noting that Cheney and Harris “get rich” while American children die in wars overseas.
While speaking to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk in Arizona, Vance described Cheney as being a “person whose entire career has been about sending other people’s children to fight and die for her military conflicts.” Vance added that both Cheney and Harris “get rich” when the United States “loses wars instead of winning wars.”

Florida Senate candidate Debbie Mucarsel-Powell is campaigning on protecting democracy, but she appears more passionate about election integrity overseas than in her own nation.

The FBI has confirmed that the 14-year-old Apalachee High School shooter, Colt Gray, a student at the Georgia school, was known to the agency as early as May 2023 after receiving “several anonymous tips about online threats to commit a school shooting at an unidentified location and time.”
This comes after we learned that an unidentified individual also warned the high school via phone that it would be the first of five schools targeted with violence prior to the shooting on Wednesday.

Inflation Chops Down Dollar Tree
Dollar Tree’s latest earnings report offers a grim reflection on the state of the American economy. What we are witnessing is not just a minor fluctuation in retail performance, but a broader indictment of an economy that, under the stewardship of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, has manifestly lost its way.For those unacquainted with Dollar Tree’s dual audience, its Family Dollar stores cater to lower-income households seeking everyday necessities, while its namesake brand draws in middle- and upper-income shoppers for affordable party supplies and seasonal goods. What makes this earnings report notable is the revelation that even households earning over $125,000 per year—once thought immune

During her first failed presidential campaign in 2019, then Senator Kamala Harris personally wrote to former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and demanded then President Donald Trump be banned from the social media platform.
