Ideally, Musk will have a lot FEWER agencies to audit. Auditing and even “streamlining” will just be temporary, they will grow. Ack bigger and more resistant to future attempts to scale them face. Rip ‘em out by the roots.

Honor the 10th Amendment! O'care should go to the states. Dept of Education should be reduced 90%. Then, if it has any redeeming value, Education should go back to HEW Health, Education and Welfare as it was before Jimmy bought the education votes. HUD should go to the states. Perhaps Ben Carson is the best person to help Musk close it down. States can form their own coalitions when 1 or more states share an issue. EPA can provide guidance and share solutions to the states without expensive regulations. Global change idiocy will not be budgeted in the federal budget. No more Peter Principle. Oh, I'm just getting started.

Suggestion: Move the remaining departments out of Washington D.C. There is an evil sickness in that town called the Potomac Political Sickness (PPS) that affects even the most innocent, well meaning congressmen/women. PPS describes a condition where politicians become enamored with the power and prestige of Washington D.C., leading them to stay in office for extended periods or indefinitely. This phenomenon is characterized by a sense of “addiction” to the political system, making it difficult for individuals to leave or reform the system.

Five mental health professionals, some of whom already accused Donald Trump of being “dangerous,” prepared a risk assessment for New York state Judge Juan Merchan to consider in his July 11 sentencing decision on Trump, according to forensic psychiatrist Dr. Bandy X. Lee, a longtime critic of the former president. It isn’t clear whether all five are psychiatrists or may have other training. Their risk assessment could be a factor in the severity of Merchan’s sentence for Trump in Manhattan Criminal Court, which could be up to 20 years in prison for all 34 felony counts on which he was convicted last month.

NASA scrapped its Boeing Starliner launch Saturday, some three minutes before it was meant to begin. Saturday was the second attempt at the launch after the May 6 event was postponed just two hours before it was scheduled. The goal is to get the Starliner onto the International Space Station for a one-week stay. Then, it will return to Earth and certify its end-to-end capabilities. This time, NASA found one of its four computers operating the launch was lagging behind the others. As all four computers are meant to perform the same function — a delay in one signals a problem.

Chattanooga, Tennessee, is known as “Gig City,” not for its many live music venues, but for its role as the first city in the Western Hemisphere to offer 1 gigabit-per-second fiber internet service to residents and businesses, an honor that it claimed in 2010. In 2024, Chattanooga has come to be representative of a different movement—the labor movement in the South. An overwhelming vote by the city’s Volkswagen employees on April 19 to join the United Auto Workers (UAW) union was the first crack in a decades-long barrier holding back the labor movement south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Until now, the Chattanooga facility has been the only non-union Volkswagen plant worldwide.

After asking if she could book a room, a woman behind the hotel counter asked Campos-Duffy to leave the building, claiming she was on "private property."

The Justice Department is reportedly narrowing its focus on prosecuting the most “egregious” offenders involved in the Jan. 6, 2021 protest at the U.S. Capitol building. Of particular concern are those who committed felony assaults on law enforcement officers, according to an NBC News report. This development comes after President-elect Donald Trump won the presidential election and prepares to take office in early 2025. The primary reason for the Justice Department’s tighter focus is likely the possibility that Trump will pardon or commute the sentences of many of those who were arrested and are facing prosecution over Jan. 6.
