'Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt. This quote by Mark Twain... or Abraham Lincoln — it's still unclear as to who said it — is not advice that Democrats thought to take, because the more they opened their mouths during the DNC, the more people seemed to sour on them. While it was always inevitable that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz would suffer what I call the "Disney dip" or what others are calling the "sugar high," it would appear the DNC sped the collapse. According to the website Polymath, the largest website that deals with betting

I can't help that think all this Kamala "joy" exists only in a DC bubble. Once the bubble bursts (about five minutes into the debate with Trump), she will die in a landslide.

KYIV — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy fired his top adviser Andriy Yermak on Friday amid a snowballing graft probe. Yermak has been by the president’s side as the second-most powerful man in Kyiv for years and is a key interlocutor with Ukraine’s Western allies as it resists Russia’s full-scale invasion. “I am grateful to Andriy for the fact that the Ukrainian position in the negotiation track has always been presented by him exactly as it should be. It has always been a patriotic position. But I want there to be no rumors and speculation,” Zelenskyy said.

President Trump went on a fiery late-night tirade in clear response to the recent terrorist attack on the National Guard, announcing a significant crackdown on immigration from all third-world countries, terminating all illegal entries into the country under the Biden administration, and declaring the only way to save America now is through "reverse migration." Trump's screed comes in the wake of an ambush attack on two members of the Guard in Washington, D.C., and just hours after the President made the heartbreaking announcement to the nation that one of the victims, 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom, had succumbed to her injuries. The individual behind the heinous attack was

Sarah Beckstrom, one of the national guard troops shot in Washington DC on Wednesday, has died, Donald Trump said on Thursday. “Sarah Beckstrom of West Virginia, one of the guardsmen that we’re talking about, highly respected, young, magnificent person … She’s just passed away. She’s no longer with us,” Trump said in his first live remarks since the shooting. Beckstrom, 20, was one of two members of the national guards shot near the White House in a targeted attack. The other member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still fighting for his life, according to the president.

The father of National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom, who was critically wounded in Wednesday's attack in Washington, D.C., said Thursday that his daughter is not expected to survive, The New York Times reported. “I’m holding her hand right now,” Gary Beckstrom told the newspaper about his 20-year-old daughter, a Specialist in the National Guard. “She has a mortal wound. It’s not going to be a recovery.” Attorney General Pam Bondi previously spoke about Beckstrom in an interview with Fox News, without naming her, saying: "She volunteered to work on Thanksgiving—working today, as did many other guardsmen and women so that other people
Trump’s Terrorist Designation of Muslim

TTrump administration has announced a plan to designate various subdivisions of the Muslim Brotherhood as foreign terrorist organizations and specially designated global terrorists, moves that enable our government to take criminal enforcement actions and seize assets. While it’s not a sweeping designation of the Brotherhood itself, which would be legally and diplomatically fraught, the announcement is a welcome development that conveys the right message about the organization. The Muslim Brotherhood (Jama’at al-Ikhwan al Muslimun) is the most consequential Islamist movement in modern history. Since its founding in Cairo by Hassan al-Banna in the late 1920s, it has spawned a global network of organizations, including jihadist organizations — Hamas, most notoriously

It appears that there may be a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine in the works, which could bring an end to the Russo-Ukrainian War, which has been going on since 2022, when Russia invaded eastern Ukraine. This war could be said to have been ongoing, in fact, since Russia's annexation of the Crimean Peninsula and seizure of the port of Sevastopol in 2014. Ukrainian officials are reporting that talks have been held between Ukrainian, Russian, and American officials, and the "core elements" of a peace deal have been agreed upon. Ukraine has agreed to the core elements of a peace proposal brokered by the Trump administration, with some details

Meta knowingly downplayed the addictive nature of social media products that its own researchers privately compared to drugs as part of a broader effort to conceal the impacts of its platforms on teenage mental health, according to an explosive new court filing. The brief was filed as part of a years-old lawsuit brought by school districts across the country alleging that social media companies including Meta, YouTube, TikTok, and Snap knowingly designed products that would addict teenagers and otherwise harm their mental health. A judge ordered the 5,807 page filing to be declassified on October 30.

For months, Donald Trump warned New Yorkers against electing Zohran Mamdani as mayor, referring to him as a “communist lunatic.” Mamdani, meanwhile, called Trump a “despot.” All of that was put aside in an extraordinary Oval Office get-together Friday, the first face-to-face meeting between the two men. Trump, who sought to kneecap Mamdani during the campaign, was exceedingly complimentary of the self-described democratic socialist, while Mamdani repeatedly talked up his hope that he and the president could work together to lower costs for New Yorkers. “I met with a man who’s a very rational person,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office following the private

The U.N. climate talks COP30 were hastily evacuated Thursday night due to a fire breaking out inside the venue in Belém, Brazil. Smoke, flames, and a rise in temperature engulfed the pavilion area as panicked attendees rushed outside to be met by fire crews entering the stricken zone. Reuters reports security footage showed flames spreading rapidly up an internal fabric shell that lined the walls and ceiling of the building before being extinguished. Thirteen people were treated for smoke inhalation at the venue, organizers said, as thousands of delegates were evacuated as security staff formed a human barrier across the hallway.

House Democratic leaders, including Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, contacted the U.S. Capitol Police and the House sergeant-at-arms to request protection for four representatives who appeared in a video message encouraging military troops to defy orders from their superiors that they deem illegal. Reps. Chris Deluzio (PA-17), Chrissy Houlahan (PA-6), Maggie Goodlander (NH-2), and Jason Crow (CO-6), along with Sens. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and Mark Kelly (D-AZ), tried agitating some troops and intelligence officials into potentially illegal actions of their own by defying orders they personally interpret as unlawful. It was a startling effort. The message was clear. They laid it out quite clearly, referencing "this administration" and how it

The Afghan man accused of gunning down two National Guard members blocks from the White House last week had been unraveling for years, unable to hold a job and flipping between long, lightless stretches of isolation and taking sudden weeks-long cross-country drives. His behavior deteriorated so sharply that a community advocate reached out to a refugee organization for help, fearing he was becoming suicidal. Emails obtained by The Associated Press reveal mounting warnings about the suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an asylum seeker whose erratic conduct raised alarms long before the attack that jolted the nation’s capital on the eve of Thanksgiving.

The results are finally in: Compared to a standard flu shot, the mRNA vaccine was associated with six times as many adverse reactions as infections prevented in adults under 65, and outright failed in elderly people, associated with more deaths and both minor and serious injuries, from injection-site swelling to kidney problems.
