The FBI arrested Washington, DC, Council member Trayon White Sr. on Sunday on charges that have not yet been made clear.
The council’s chairman and two other sources confirmed the arrest to the Washington Post on Sunday. Per the report:
Council Chairman Phil Mendelson (D) said the arrest occurred about 2 p.m. He said he was previously unaware that White was under investigation.
White, a Democrat who was first elected in 2016, represents Ward 8 in Southeast Washington.
The circumstances of the arrest, which occurred Sunday, and the nature of the allegations against White were not immediately clear.

It’s not until you're somewhat deep into yet another mainstream media puff piece of Kamala Harris that you come across a rather startling admission by Joe Biden’s former chief of staff, Ron Klain. He basically admits that the Democrats’ nominee for president failed in her VP gig.
The New York Times headline Sunday certainly might make you think that Harris had mastered the intricacies of the job: “A Vice Presidential Learning Curve: How Kamala Harris Picked Her Shots,” it reads. But after first describing how Harris was “deliberate and disciplined” despite the many pitfalls she faced as the first female vice president, the Times finally got to the point (emphasis mine):

srael has long been known to have a great intelligence apparatus; being a small nation surrounded by people who want you dead tends to sharpen your intelligence-gathering skills. Now we are presented with another example of just how good Israel is at information-gathering, as on July 30th, they used a ruse involving a mysterious phone call to lure a Hezbollah commander out of hiding to a location where he could be (and was) deleted by an airstrike.
Israel lured out an elusive Hezbollah commander with a mysterious phone call moments before launching the deadly airstrike that would kill him and cause the terror group to vow revenge,

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that pressure — from the U.S. and from domestic opposition — for a hostage deal needs to be on Hamas, not the Israeli government, due to the terror group’s ongoing obstinacy.

The Israeli government has been under pressure from the U.S. to agree to a deal — though it has already accepted the terms laid out by President Joe Biden in May. (Secretary of State Blinken will visit

While speaking at a campaign stop in Pennsylvania on Sunday, Vice President Kamala Harris appeared to stumble over her words while explaining what the 2024 presidential election is “about” and what the United States stands “for around the globe.”
“Our election is about understanding the importance of this beautiful country of ours in terms of what we stand for around the globe as a democracy,” Harris told the crowd. “As a democracy, we know, there’s a duality to the nature of democracy.”
Writer Greg Price posted a video of Harris’s speech on X, and commented, “Kamala word salads are so back.” “On the one hand, incredible strength when it is intact,”

She's back. Off-script Kamala Harris returned with a vengeance on Sunday providing several mock-worthy moments.
Often compared to Julia Louis-Dreyfus' character on "Veep," Harris has long spun word salads and spoken nonsensically when she ventures off the teleprompter. Until this point, though, her astroturfed campaign (in which she won zero primary votes before becoming the nominee) was doing a relatively decent job wrapping her in political bubble wrap. She'd do some rallies with opening musical acts, read short speeches, and generally get nowhere near any situation that wasn't heavily produced and focus-grouped.

Vice President Harris is holding a narrow lead over former President Trump ahead of the Democratic National Convention next week, according to a new poll.
The ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll found Harris has 49 percent of support among registered voters while Trump has 45 percent and 5 percent said they would back someone else. This shows Harris pulling ahead, as a previous ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll conducted last month showed President Biden and Trump tied at 46 percent of support each.
Harris also holds a thin lead over Trump when third-party candidates are added to the mix. The poll showed Harris with 47 percent of support, Trump with 44 percent

Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), who is running for vice president, savaged Vice President Kamala Harris’ economic policies, which involved government bans on “price gouging” and shelling out taxpayer money to help first-time home buyers.
During an interview with Fox News’ Shannon Bream on Sunday, Vance discussed Harris’ stance on inflation and polling showing that she is slightly ahead of former President Donald Trump.
Vance did not mince words when discussing how ridiculous Harris’ economic policies are. He said, “The American people just don’t buy the idea that Kamala Harris, who has been vice president for three and a half years, is somehow going to tackle

A New York Times reporter in Australia leaked the names of Jews in Australia on a WhatsApp group that was then leaked to pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel activists who “doxxed” and targeted them for harassment and vandalism.
The Wall Street Journal reported:
Early this year, the contents of a WhatsApp group for Jewish creative professionals and academics, set up in Australia after the Oct. 7 attacks in Israel, leaked and fell into the hands of pro-Palestinian activists.
The activists posted snippets on social media, along with the names, photos and social-media page links of many of the group’s 600-odd members.

Kamala Harris has a plan. It's supposed to be her "economic plan" but no one really believes she's serious about implementing it.
If Harris believes it, we're in deep trouble.
"My guess is that a lot of the things she said in the past about what she really wants to do, like the Green New Deal, for example… getting carbon-neutral by 2030 – all that kind of stuff would cause a deep recession toward carbon," former White House economist Kevin Hassett told Fox Business's "The Big Money Show" Thursday.
"Carbon-neutral by 2030 is almost impossible. 75% of our electricity comes from burning fossil fuels.

The United States, Egypt, and Qatar have finalized a cease-fire proposal to halt the ongoing Gaza war between Israel and Hamas after holding discussions in Doha over the last two days.
The three nations released a joint statement on Friday announcing that they presented both sides of the conflict with a finalized cease-fire deal, and plan on holding discussions in Cairo next week to conclude the negotiations.
The proposal is consistent with the principles President Joe Biden laid out in a three-part cease-fire plan on May 31, the statement says. “This proposal builds on areas of agreement over the past week, and bridges remaining gaps

Vice President Kamala Harris laid out more than a dozen policy proposals on Friday aimed at lowering costs for middle-class Americans and supporting young families, marking her first attempt at laying out an economic agenda since becoming the Democrats’ presumptive presidential nominee.
Harris’s campaign unveiled the policy proposals ahead of a speech in North Carolina on Friday afternoon, where she is expected to tout her economic agenda and contrast it with her 2024 GOP rival, former president Donald Trump.
The move comes as Republicans have criticized Harris’s campaign for its lack of concrete policy proposals, besides her abandonment of several progressive policies
