Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich finally touched down on US soil late Thursday night after spending more than a year in a hellish Russian prison â and becoming the first American journalist to be arrested for alleged spying since the Cold War.
The 32-year-old journalist â along with freed hostages Paul Whelan and Alsu Kurmasheva â landed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, where they were greeted by President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
The brave reporter shook hands with Biden and Harris as he briefly spoke with them and gave the commander in chief a hug before he was surrounded by jubilant family members for their long-awaited emotional reunion.

Need money or a prisoner trade? Kidnap an American and falsely accuse him. Putin has his assassin back.

Expect a parade of self-serving feel-good stunts to help ease Potato Salad (spawn of Joetato and mistress of word salad) in to office.

So Biden and Harris inserted themselves into the reunion before they let them see their families? Obnoxious, low-class move.

What a scripted performance that home coming was.
These three people who wanted to get with their families held on the plane and waiting for the photo-op.

Ok, biden you cheater. So, why is Marc Vogel still rotting away in the russkie gulag? Three years in the gulag for having a half ounce of medical weed in his possession. Funny, that you were wlling to swap russkie convicts for brittney griner's release. Why you letting Vogel waste away, pal?

Wow! What amazing timing! Just when we were worried about who is actually running the country we are gobsmacked with a reminder of Joe's astonishing diplomatic skills! He and his faithful and confident VP not only welcome back the hostages but use the opportunity to strengthen Joe's legacy as well. And the photo op of the hostage return conveniently gives the impression that Harris has experience in foreign affairs---an area in which she is seriously lacking.
If Harris is elected, she will owe the international leaders big time because at some time they will call in their markers. Welcome to OneWorld politics. Little by little, but in lockstep.

Well, Kamala can go on and on about having a President who believes in diplomacy but this was a simple prisoner exchange -- no diplomacy involved at all. And I must say, the prisoners all look to be in good health, foot mobile and with meat on their bones, unlike Otto Warmbier.

Nothing like a good prisoner swap to take the focus away from the terrible deal for the 9-11 families.
biden-harris are a disgrace to the nation.

Iâm glad that those Americans got to come back to America. While Putin got twice as many of his Russian operatives back during this prisoner exchange, you can bet that such an unbalanced exchange will serve as an incentive for adversarial foreign countries in the future to grab Americans in their countries to get back their bad guys who have been arrested and convicted of actual felony crimes and spying, especially during the run up to US elections were American politicians believe such prisoner exchanges will enhance their political profiles and buy them additional votes. In that respect have you ever seen Harris at an Air Force Base to await the return of American Military Members who have been killed overseas? I donât remember anything like that ever happening.

Grandstanding Biden and Harris shamelessly butt in on a family reunion..... BEFORE the reunion. "Dr." Jill was there too.... tacky, tacky as usual.

Iâm with #13. None of the propaganda media outlets are revealing what the illegal Biden/Harris Regime had to give up to Russia in this very suspiciously timed deal. No doubt the USA got a rotten deal in the end.

Why is this being pushed as "historic". There have been many prisoner swaps with Russia in the past. It is just more media propaganda to build up Biden and Harris.

A good friend of mine, Larry Lunt, was set up by the CIA as a rancher in Cuba during the Bay of Pigs. He was actually running arms, got caught and spent more than a decade in a Castro prison. Eventually he was freed in a SPY SWAP organized by Dick Cheney who was then a WY Congressman. Lunt went on to write a book called Leave Me My Spirit about his experiences in the Cuban prison, which earned rave reviews from the NYTimes which you can still read online. From what I know about spy swaps, what happened yesterday ticks all the boxes.

Wonder how many more prisoners and hostages the Democrat cartel has on the back burner waiting for the most politically helpful moment to get them released so they can posture with them in front of the cameras...?

Sorry for continuing to pop up here but I was kind of surprised to see that there is a memorandum to Donald Rumsfeld and General Scowcroft called The Lawrence Lunt Case which can be found on cia.gov/readingroom or just with a cursory google search. It's only 2 declassified pages but clearly shows how these "prisoner swaps" work---if anyone's interested.
